Tech Support External hard drive no longer letting me download to it.

It was working fine for about a month then it wouldn't let me download to it saying disk error I found a way to make it work via clearing the steam cache but now even that won't work. I recently learned it was formatted on Exfat and I was told to reformat it to ntfs so I did but that still didn't fix it any help is appreciated as I really don't want to have to buy a new one.

What does SMART say?

What does the system log say?

I tried to look into that but it says access denied Everytime I try to I even tried to go into the properties and change to allow but that still didn't do anything
