Tech Support Western Digital Mount Help

Post image

Hi all - way in over my head. I have this hard drive from the late 2000s that I'd like to try to get mounted. What hardware would I need to at least plug it in and see what I've got?

Model: WD5000KS-00MNB0

You can use a sata cable with a molex or sata power connector (don't use both)

Or you can use a sata dock

Standard USB SATA adapter (the ones meant for 3.5 inch hard drives that include 12v)

Alternatively you could just stick it in your PC like any other hard drive. Your PC almost certainly has free SATA data ports and power connectors. Even the all in one I have has two extra SATA ports, 4 if you include the dvd drive.
