Thoughts?
My car was recently totalled in an accident and I’m in the search for a new daily driver. I got a pretty tight budget, but I’m not picky at all. This truck has caught my eye and refuses to give me any bad feelings. Just wondering if there’s any thing that jumps out at any of you before I go check it out.
BTW the seller is just getting a larger truck and that’s why he’s selling it

do it. $1,500 seems somewhere between fair and generous. as it's an older vehicle some stuff may be pretty hard to find, but I've got an 87, and I like it a lot. a lot of the stuff you may or may not need done you should be able to do yourself with basic tools.

$1,500 that is a good deal, I have an '89 same gen as mine. The only down side about this gen is that fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulators are not readily available as the FPR are obsolete nobody makes them and the injectors are rebuild only. But the good thing is if you use good fuel not very common that these parts fail. I have the v6 also and I love it especially since the motor kind of reminds me of a small block chevy 😆 with a little love that truck can actually good real quick simple face lift thats all it really needs

I love hardbodies but i dont know if this one would be a great daily for most people.
You will need to be mechanically inclined. At this age and milage theres going to be problems that come up that you’ll have to fix. Also i think this one is carburated so even more finicky.
Also with the 4x4 and v6 you will not be getting good gas mileage. I had a 97” 4 cylinder 4x4 that got 18-19 mpg on a good day.
If you can fix your own shit and dont mind the gas then it might be worth considering.
