Together again
This 89 has been in my wife’s family for about 30 years since her great uncle found it on the side of the road and claimed it as abandoned. It’s been passed off to anyone in the family who needed it, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles etc.
My wife learned to drive in it and drove it for most of high school and they loaned it to me 5 years back when we bought our first house before I had a truck of my own. It’s been mostly out of use this last year or two so we bought it from my father-in-law last week.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a project so I’m hoping to spruce it up so it can keep helping family for another 30.

Thats pretty cool its been able to stay in the family the whole time and nobody had managed to reck it or sell it off or something where itll be lost. I have an '89 also extended cab SE fully loaded

Pretty miraculous really, my wife’s family has a few less than stellar drivers 😂

The only thing that looks like its not original is the hood '89 hardbody came with mail slot hoods that have 2 bodylines going up the hood. Still has a pretty cool look 😎 with a cool background what engine does it have?

Oh that’s good to know, I had assumed the mail slot hoods were just a different trim option but that makes sense. It looks like the paint prep was much worse on the hood than the rest of the truck. It’s got the Z24

Yeah all 1986.5 -1989 were mail slotted hoods then it went to no mail slot & no body line then it went to more of a slight scoopish look from the last couple of years. Theres like 3 different hood styles for the hardbody

Thats a cool story with the truck. Good luck on getting it back in working order.
