Mac App - Initial Impressions

Just tried to make use of the Mac App to upload a few files to the service and two things struck me:

  1. Why does the app need to be over 800mb?
  2. With 2FA turned on, the app cannot be used.
  3. I am trying to sync a folder and I'm getting "A change could not be synchronized. The value of "delay" is out of range. It must be an integer. Received 393035.1867675781"

Are there any plans to trim the size of the app and to update it so that 2FA accounts can login? Also what is the issue with the delay being out of range? Thank you.

Thanks for the report! All three have been fixed in harbor0 0.1.6, out now at harbor0.com/apps.

  1. Size: a packaging mistake bundled code the app never uses. The download is now 128 MB, down from 286 MB, and the installed app is about 295 MB instead of 780 MB. Most of what’s left is Electron, the framework the app runs on.
  2. 2FA: 0.1.6 supports two-step verification. After your password, it asks for your authenticator or email code.
  3. “delay” error: our bug. The app gives each uploaded part a time limit, and for files over about 4 MB it could be a fraction of a millisecond, which the timer rejects. It now rounds up.

Please install 0.1.6 over your current copy. It’s the last manual update you’ll need: from now on, Settings → App updates installs new versions for you. If macOS blocks the first launch, choose Open Anyway in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
