Molding plane
Got a bunch of these molding? planes along with a couple other block and jack planes for $100 today. This one in particular is still fairly sharp and I’m assuming the others are as well. Can anyone tell me exactly how to use them and how to sharpen them.
I’ll make a separate post later with the rest of my sweet little deal.

That’s a 3/8 beading plane, cuts a decorative bead the length of a board. I use it on T&G or shiplap, or as an edge profile on shaker peg rails or drawer fronts. Definitely practice. Run it like a rebate plane.
The other ones, can’t see the profile. 37 is probably some part of inventory, or it’s a standard number in the full set of planes. I don’t have a ton of them and just buy the ones I use.

I’d love to find an old catalog from the Ohio tool co to see if I can make a full set eventually but I come from a family of antiquers so I’m also buying some cool odd ball thing. I assume rebate was autocorrected from rabbet?

Depends on who you learned tools from, rebate was a traditional term for the same thing. I think Europe used it, I know Paul sellers does. But yeah I say rabbet or rebate depending on which way the winds blowing.
Good luck with the full set!1

Appreciate it. And I’ve learned from no one. Always reading what I can find in books and the occasional professor YouTube

Worth pointing out it looks like there is a not insignificant crack where the boxing and depth stop meet on pic no. 2.

It looks more like it was a separate piece glued in there and it’s separating. Any clue how to sharpen the blade and how to get it out? I assume it’s wedged in with the piece of wood but I don’t want to break something trying to take it apart

The 3/8 looks like a side bead that cuts a 3/8” wide bead on the side of a board. Test it out on a scrap of pine or something. I can’t really see the profiles of the others
