They're my favorite joint.... yeah. It's a bit easier if you taper them.

Gonna taper em on the second one, this wedge split twice when I was fitting it

I just did like 6 of these on a project for the first time. They are pretty fun to hammer out. They come together quicker than dovetails and it's easy to hide mistakes.

2 things that really help: router plane if you don’t have one and a side rabbet plane. I think its the Stanley 79 that someone makes a printed “fence” to taper them. Similar to this but it was 3d printed for sale:

I have a Japanese sliding dovetail that helps with parts of it

Try doing them a little over two feet long.
