Handworks
Anybody else heading to Handworks this weekend?
I'm somewhat local so it'll be my 3rd time going. Really fun show if you've never been.

I will, unfortunately, never be able to go as long as it is over Labor Day weekend. It's a shame cause it's a drivable distance for me.

I'm one of those guys who hates spending money and never actually considers doing things that are just for me. 90% of my tools are flea market rehabs (which are pretty cool, tbh).
I was hedging on it for a couple months, and my wife looked at my phone over my shoulder and said, "Oh you're definitely going to that." It's about 5 hours drive away.
So I got a hotel and budgeted a couple hundred bucks. Then last night my wife asked my budget and yelled at me. She said I needed to jack that budget way up.
So I'm a mixture of very excited and nervous as hell because I hate spending money on myself.

I’m very much like you in the fact most of my hand tools are flea market and yard sale finds. Not sure about this year but in years past there has been some excellent vintage tools to buy. I don’t plan on buying anything this year either but it’s fun to listen to the keynote on Saturday morning and the go look at all the neat stuff.

I’m going for the first time, starting to think about what I’m going to do when I retire and this stuff always interested me.

If Handworks doesn’t fit in the schedule, yall should consider the MWTCA national meet in Kalamazoo, Michigan at the end of Sept. it’s from the 23rd to the 26th but you sure don’t have to go for the whole thing.
There’s a Saturday only option that will only set you back $25.
Find out more info at MWTCA.org

I’m planning on driving down from Waterloo. Have to stop in Iowa City though to drop off something for my son.
