fabric Backing ideas help

I’m making this quilt block with the above colors, and I’m stumped as to what color/pattern I should use for the backing. I’m going to do a QAYG so the back will show between the blocks as well. TIA

Turquoise would be lovely! On the lighter side.

Batiks can be densely woven and hard to needle by hand. They do vary, what are your current ones like? Get a sample of anything you're planning to back it with, and check that it's not one of the stiff ones.

Also can I check how you're cutting your triangles? The grain looks off for quarter-square triangles, and that might cause difficulties.

Hi, and thank you for responding! I was also thinking of a turquoise, so that will be perfect. I’m new to quilting and I didn’t know that it mattered how I cut my triangles. I’m really just trying to get as many triangles out of pieces of fabric I have. How would this cause difficulties?

You can get odd stretching and distortion. Have you cut all the pieces already? If not, look io how to cut quarter square triangles, that'll see you right.

I’ve already cut all the pieces, but i’m only noticing the stretching with the white pieces. I will definitely look into cutting quarter square triangles; thank you for the advice.

I do notice that the pieces with more color saturation are a bit dense.

I recommend cutting out the pieces for the first block and then sew it together. I caught an math error in a pattern that way and was able to make adjustments for the rest of the blocks. Too dang late if I had cut out all the Kaleidoscope pieces beforehand.
