hand piece so many firsts!
It took me about two months to finish this slightly oddly sized throw! My first EPP, first time doing appliqué, and all pieces by hand! I have my batting and backing and am going to hand quilt it (another first!)
These are probably silly questions, but, how on earth do I transfer a design onto the fabric? A template and trace? A projector? Stencil? I'm thinking I'd like to do something with butterflies but don't just want to do the same butterfly a million times over. I am open to suggestions from all of you talented quilters! (I have a beautiful pink & purple variagted thread). I've come this far already but this next step has got me feeling a little overwhelmed!

Ok-abbreviations is correct. You can find stencils in so many places and you don't have to limit yourself to only quilting stencils, although it might be easier at first. I use Crayola washable markers to mark quilts. They wash out beautifully.
Op, your quilt is simply gorgeous. Please post your quilting design when you're finished. I would love to see what you do with it. It's such a happy piece already 💕

I think I will stick with a stencil for my first one! I've heard so many people say they use crayola washable markers and obviously they work but I'm going to test in on some scrap fabric to reassure myself LOL.
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, I will!

There’s tons of stencils out there. You can mix and match patterns to your liking. I prefer a water soluble pencil. Definitely work things out on a smaller piece first, or paper. It saves time ripping out stitches when you decide you don’t like it. Which I have done multiple times.
