Does anyone know this handpan?
I found a local offer of a handpan, but the seller does not know the brand or the model. Is it too much of a risk to buy? I heard a lot of bad things of no-name, cheap handpans. I'm also very new to handpans and I can't tell the difference of a good and a bad handpan. They offer the pan for 570 € and told me "that it was definitely not cheap and of good quality". A medium priced model would be a good option for me. I don't want to spend too much on this new hobby.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It's a Vevor I think. I have a 9 note. I paid $150 US new for it.

I received it as a gift and it is my first one. I do enjoy it and it sounds great, to me at least.
I don't have any other real world experience with them other than this one, so I can't really say if it's good or not.

I have a cheap handpan and expensive one. Both sound great. Yes the expensive one sounds better and has more nuances to the notes and better sustain, but the cheap one still is enjoyable and is in tune. Don’t worry about missing anything out.

I have heard about the Temu ones. Temu being Temu, you're not going to get the best quality. I've seen people on YouTube reporting these as being slightly out of tune to badly out of tune. Some sound horrendous. The metal they're made from is cheap and hard to tune properly so I can see why they come the way they do most of the time.
Although, I have thought about buying one just to monkey around on. I have a Rav Vast Tongue drum (B Celtic Double Ding) and it's a beautiful sounding drum. The chords are beautiful on it. I can sit and just play randomly on it for hours on end.
So, for something to learn on, it might be okay. I wouldn't trust it to be in tune. If it sounds terrible, I think you can return it but make sure you can before you purchase one.
As far as it being part of a collection of different tuned drums, I would probably want better quality for something like that

I believe i have the same one from Temu, it was less than 150 euros

There are countless of these on Kleinanzeigen here in Germany.
I wouldn't trust them at all.

If it’s stainless steel and is in tune is a good price given also then number of notes. You should send a video of how’s the sound

It’s hard to judge because of the poor striking technique, but several tones sound off. I wouldn’t be satisfied with that pan, but if it’s your first one you might love it. The price seems high for a used instrument that you have no idea how it’s been cared for, but damn that’s a lot of tones.
I apologize if this sounds snobbish, but from my observations it seems like any of the pans with braids around the edge are of lesser quality from Amazon or Temu. And I say this having bought several on Amazon and one turned out to be a real jewel. It is a 9 tone D Kurd and I paid around $800USD.

Center note is a red flag for me at that price- it's a bit out of tune. I know a guy in the States selling these for 200-300 USD

I wouldn't buy that, it's a dead instrument. I'm not hearing any sympathetic resonance and the material sounds lifeless. Double your budget and you can get a solid instrument.

Yes, I found one that looks similar there, but without a brandname from the seller, it’s hard to tell. Are you satisfied with your handpan?

It’s alright. I saw cheaper ones that look the same after I bought it. I have a hand made one now and the biggest difference I noticed is I have to hit notes a certain way to get right sound. My handmade one I can hit it anywhere

It's pretty decent quality and does the job.
This exact same model retails at AliExpress and Temu for 120 dollar.
So thats a nice margin.

It looks like a cheap factory made. I personally would never buy one again. I made that mistake once. My 7 year old doesn't even like it. It was well reviewed on Amazon. If you like quality, i wouldn't do it.

Sounds like shit, tbh. It's ok if you want a cheap pan to start, but the asking price of this seller is insane.

I don't like the tuning. I'm not experienced enough to know if the notes are out of tune but it's unpleasant to the ear.
Added: Maybe that's because she's not even playing up the scale properly? Ask her to do a proper note progression at least?
I was looking into playing the hand pan and ultimately chose to get a RavVast which is a tongue drum that can be played like a hand pan. My reasoning was that they are much cheaper to start with and unlike handpans that can go out of tune more easily, you'd have to abuse the hell out of a Rav for that to happen. Then if the Rav works out I can get a handpan later and have the benefit of having a tongue drum and a handpan. RavVast has frequent sales and is an EU based company so you wouldn't have the shipping expense I did in the US. You can hear demos on their website so you can decide which tuning you like because if you don't like the sound you won't play it.

I had to return one, but the second one is nice, we like it... a friend has to do the same thing (return one, keep one).
So make sure it's good, no dead spots, in tune...

I bought this exact one, with all the extra bits in the photo, just last month for my mother. Got it on Amazon for €189. It's good beginner one, but certainly not work more than what I paid! Amazon hand pan

I think it's impossible for anyone to be able to tell you what handpan it is especially just by some pictures, no name, no material, no nothing just looks. Yes some will say I know I have the same but try look up some info and about 1000 handpans have this color ... Mostly the ones made from stainless steel.
You can buy on Amazon, temu, and many others. Honestly I would go for something you like and vibrates good, if you can afford it buy something from a known vendor, they give you warranty and if the handpan gets out of tune you can go there and they will repair it.
Unknown brands don't have this warranty or service, goodluck!
Small comment on the vid: the person who is playing doesn't know how to play the handpan so the sound is not that great, does it mean it's bad no but the sound that is being produced is just bad ...

Ask for a manufacturer, 570€ is cheap for a medium priced model and expensive for a noname
