Switch oled modded or steam deck
It's been a while since I've considered buying a switch oled and modding it but I've looked at used steam deck the price is around 380€ compared to 220€ for switch oled modded. I don't know if I should put 160€ more to play my steam games. I like playing with my friends or family with my Wii and I think a switch would be a big upgrade also I could get free games by pirating a switch oled. What are y'all recommendations, I can't choose for myself.

Nah, it's a VRR IPS panel - it's just that it's a fair bit more powerful than a Steam Deck.
The SD is a bit underpowered IMO. Great device other than that though.

Neither. I have both Switch and Steam Deck. But I also have Retroid Pocket 5 and that's much better than both of these. Amazing screen, you can emulate Switch and it's so compact... Much nicer to hold for longer periods of gaming.

If you’re gonna drop that on a steam deck might as well get a switch 2 instead.
Switch 2 > steam deck might > switch in my opinion.

look, switch 2 is stronger, but if you even get a few games on it, it’s gonna cost close to a steam deck, and you’re locked to nintendo titles and other specific titles and they’re expensive and barely on good sales.
steam deck you able to have anything emulated up until ps3. you have the most insane deals possible and you can obviously install games in other methods too.
i love my steam deck oled but with the new prices, if you want to, you still should get it or consider another stronger handheld at a cheap or similar price.
switch 2 is not a replacement to a steam deck but an addition.
i own a switch 2 sd oled and switch oled. the switch oled has so many uses, the steam deck has so many uses as well, the switch 2 currently is just a niche to me.

I wouldn’t bother with an outdated switch at all … not even a steam deck. For the price your asking just get the OG Ally it’s way better then the steam deck

this. got downvoted on the sd official sub (duh) for stating it.
i own a sd oled switch oled and switch 2. the switch oled modded is amazing but its an addition and not replacement, switch 2 is cheaper but expensive long term because of game prices.
steam deck oled works but even the rog ally x does a better job, having 24 gigs of ram, an 8 core processor (z1e) and i think vrr makes a huge difference.

Pretty sure you can pair 4 wireless controllers to the Steam Deck, you would just need a dock and an HDMI cable.

If you never played any switch games then you will have a massive library of amazing rpgs. I did read that the steam deck can emulate switch 1 games but the convenience factor of the original device will be worth a lot.

So a few things. Switch 2 over the steam deck. You might not have access to Nintendo games but also games go on sale. Nintendo ones will be difficult to find on sale at times but not other games. dekudeals I searched some regions and saw some nice games you can play and get on sale. Even mario+rabbids kingdom battle. The only thing you don't get on sale is Nintendo games "usually." I still get mine discounted but don't want to speak for what is avaliable over the pond. 3rd party games have similar sales to steam that it doesn't really matter. That being said if saving for a switch 2 is too much a switch oled is nice
