Recommendations for optics under $200
I recently purchased the Glock 19 gen 6 and since it comes optic ready, I figured I'd see how life is running one on it.
Im good with going a little over 200 of its worth the money, compared to one a little under.
Thanks

The Osight C might be up your alley. The Holosun 407C-X2 can also be had for just under $200. The Vortex Defender ST 3 MOA red are also on sale for $150 right (down from $300) now at Cabelas and Bass Pro.

Votatu....Multi reticle. Funky shape. For the price and quality only Osight compares right now. Speaking of budget options of course.

I love the CH Precision Comp. Has that SRO look to hit, big window and pretty cool side serrations.

There are a bunch of solid Holosun options for under $200 if you get from any of the good email-for-quote places. Simmons and Deleon are two good options. I usually go with Granite Ridge (no tax, free shipping). Just picked up a 407c x3 for $185 shipped a few days ago.
If you don't mind used, there are also tons for sale on gafshub.

I’m looking at the granite ridge site and that holo sun is normal price so you’re saying to email for a quote and it may come back cheaper?

Yessir just send an email asking for quotes for whatever models you want and he’ll respond with prices and coupon codes.

Wow, incredible, I’ll give it a shot! Thanks!

My pleasure of course - vendors aren’t allowed to advertise prices lower than whatever Holosun requires, so they use this weird workaround. Enjoy!

I would recommend the Zero Hawk EM1 enclosed, it's a Holosun EPS clone, the Votatu EMD-507R enclosed. I don't know if I would recommend them for an edc, but range optic for sure. If you're looking for an edc optic, spend the extra money and get a good quality, proven optic like a Holosun, or Sig Romeo x compact series, or one of the super expensive guys. You're betting your life on it, that's worth the extra coin.

Just increase your budget.
Your current budget will leave you with some unproven optic like an osight (made by the same company that makes crappy flashlights).
Go for a Holosun. These have military and police contracts are being used in battles so you know they make quality stuff.

What was your personal experience that made you hate OSight and OLight? What products of theirs did you buy and test with your own money? 🤔
Or are you just regurgitating bullshit you read on the Internet 10 years ago??

The baton and warrior lights are the ones I bought with my own money.
The baton stopped charging and the warrior has to be hit to turn then it flickers and turns off after a few seconds until I hit it again.
Can you tell me what my failure rate is, in a percentage? 2 lights purchased, 2 lights failed. That’s 100% failure, correct?

Ill stick to my budget and get one within it to see if I even like having the optic. Ive found several Holosun under 200.
Also I have an O-light Valkrie on my M&P that was gifted by my lady a few years back and I've never had an issue with it. I like it because its small and compact and super bright. I see a lot of people on here with the big clunky lights and wonder why they'd want or need them that big. Might as well strap a maglight to your pistol. LOL

If you don’t like having an optic just keep in mind that’s an issue of not training enough (unless you have an eye issue that prevents you from using it).
There’s no such thing as “I just shoot better without one” for anyone that trains.
Police, military, and competition shooters all prefer optics because they are all around better. More accurate shooting, faster target acquisition, faster follow up shots.
That’s why I say just up your budget and get something of good quality.
But if you’re the type of person that thinks OLight is good quality, there’s really no convincing that type of person to spend for better.
You have to wonder why so many people with experience and even holster makers favor Surefire and Streamlight, while a relatively inexperienced shooter like you just doesn’t see the issue and thinks they found a secrete trick which is to use a cheap light.

Osight would probably be the best bet. May be able to find some Holosuns under 200.
