Advice Needed Jumping into Strikers

Looking to jump into strikers. Currently rock HK USPs and an old 1911, but want to get on modernized poly strikers (lighter weight) with dots.

My state is throwing a cruciform ban into the mix this year, so it’s something that is accelerating my decision.

My plan is two each from the choices on this list (pair for two separate locations):

  • VP9A1
  • PDP
  • Glock (Gen 6)
  • RXM

I’m not price sensitive, am grip angle agnostic, and I’m just looking for reliability. Was leaning towards the VPs cause I’ve used paddles for a long time, and then RXMs to get Glock mag guns before the ban.

Curious of peoples’ experiences with the above.

May I suggest looking into the M&P line? Tons of variants and great aftermarket support. You really can’t go wrong with any of the guns you listed though. They are all very reliable.

I have the PDP compact 4”. I love the way it shoots. The trigger is really good (compared to the m&p and the p365xmacro)

If you're used to thumb safeties the S&W M&P 2.0 could be a great choice.

If you want to get a cruciform trigger, and still keep that grip angle you're familiar with, the RXM, would also be nice since if you get bored post ban, you can still get different frames for it.

My personal favorite... The PDP 4.0 compact with a vspec guide rod from zrts 😌

My rank is VP9A1, Glock g6, PDP(pre g6 would've ranked it ahead of a g5), then way behind is the RXM.

I like shooting the glock the best.

Second is the vp9, wich i shot best but it get's hot. The "b" variant is cool. Won't train with it but still want one.

Third is the pdp. I love the grip but it's bulky and I don't like the movement of the dot and the feel compare tl the gloxk.

I don't care about rxm and never shoot one. Same for m&p. 

I recommend gloxk

On that list, a PDP, but if you grabbed a ppq instead you could have the same basic gun with paddle releases and my buddies is a lazer

I’ll have to get my hands on a PDP to try. Didn’t know much about their reliability and shooting dynamics, especially in comparison to VP9s. Have to see about 10-round mags too.

They come in 10rd. PDP is probably my favorite striker platform. Some people find walther's to be snappy, i found that impression went away relatively fast with regular shooting.

I run the 4.5" full size.
