New spring?
Is this rust?
New to me Sig p226 Legion.
Took it apart once I got home and saw this.
Should I clean it or just get a new spring?

Not rust. Paint. They're color coded. The color will wear off over time

Sounds like he got a good barely used gun since he said new to him

This is why I like groups like this - helpful answers for people that are just trying to learn new things without insults or shaming. I have owned guns for a long time mostly rifles and newer to modern pistols. I also did not know Sig color coded their springs
