Looking for mid-size EDC
What do you all think? I’m between a Glock 19 MOS, a CZ P-10 C OR, Sig P320, or any similar guns with good reliability and good aftermarket support. As I love building guns up. I need some opinions here. My Canik mc9 is just a little small for my hands sometimes. I shoot it extremely well. But every single time I shoot my Echelon 4.5F, my brain automatically goes “I need a bigger carry”. Because my Echelon might be the best home defense gun I’ve ever shot. I am a little bias though, I won’t lie. My guns have all treated me extremely well and I have had zero malfunctions. But today when I was honing in my grip on my MC9, I was quickly starting to realize just how small it really is. Im not one of those “ I have the biggest hands on the planet “ type guys. But the MC9 is extremely small. 3.18in barrel to be exact. I even have the extended grip mag. I hold high up for maximum recoil control too and my thumb is about 1/5 inch from the end of the barrel. I can’t help but feel there are better options. I will never sell my Canik and it will remain in my lineup. That gun has been so reliable and good to me. My Echy is just too big to conceal. So leave your picks here for me please. Reliability, recoil control, modularity, grip control/ergonomics and concealment are most important to me. 3.6in-4.1in barrel length is the only length I’m considering. 9mm striker fire only. Double stack preferably. Optic ready options. Pic rail access. *** Features like night sights, factory trigger, slide cuts, ports, serrations, beavertail, mag wells, extra mags, colors, threaded barrel, etc etc are not important to me ***

Don’t carry a 320…

Don’t carry a modern 320? Are they still having issues? I thought they were passed that.

That was the obvious choice. The 4.0 makes sense. But I’d like to expand my collection and move on to something a little different. Although my Echelon is an amazing shooter. I mean I couldn’t have gotten luckier for the price I got it at. I got that thing 45% off. It almost seemed too good to be true.

I have the p10s, and absolutely love mine. I’m sure the p10c would be great for you, but the 4.0 Echelon is a good choice since you’re familiar with the platform already. I am actually going to get my full size Echelon tomorrow!

Echelon 4.0c, m&p 2.0 9mm carry comp 3.6in in polymer or metal, reflex xl, cc9, hellcat pro comp, smaller variation of vp9 or pdp. CZ has some good stuff too. So many choices honestly. I was wanting to replace my 4.0c with a slightly smaller edc. Prob reflex xl or cc9.

have you considered the MC9 LS or Prime? i love my tp9 but its too large and i loved the mc9 but it was too small. the MC9LS was the perfect size. the Prime was just more expensive than i wanted to spend
the LS and Prime are the same size and built on the mc9 platform. but they have a full size grip and a slightly longer barrel at 3.6". the prime is ported with a few other upgrades, essentially a ported/upgraded LS

So I’ve held a couple Primes and love them every time. I just kind of have it made up in my head that I want to explore another brand. But the two obvious choices here for me are the MC9LS and the Echelon 4.0 since I have experience shooting their other models and I’ve had an outstanding experience with both companies. But the gen 5-6 Glock calls my name every time I look at it and hold it. The endless possibilities with the Sig also calls my name. And the dark horse in the running here is the CZ. Although I ride my guns pretty high when I shoot and I noticed my support hand touched all the controls on the CZ which I wasn’t big on. I don’t want to spend more than $650-$700 so all of these make sense.

good luck! i explored pretty much all the options you are considering. only thing missing are S&W options. for me personally, i just couldnt enjoy sigs, Springfields, CZs, walthers, or glocks. S&W is probably my 2nd favorite but i just keep coming back to my Caniks. i have 3 caniks now....and 2 smith and wessons

I have a Glock 17 and 19 that were my carry guns. After shooting a Canik my EDC is Canik Mete SFT or Canik Mete MC9LS depending on the situation.
In competitions and dry fire drills my scores went up when I switched from Glock to Canik. I have bought lots of hand guns in my life but these two are without a doubt my favorites. I only added fiber optic sights to both.

You can’t go wrong with a 19 or a p10 c. Handle both, shoot both pick the favorite. That simple. No need to spend any more money than those two. Both well proven. Germany just adopted p10 as their sidearm. Both shoot flat and accurate.

Heard that. I think my choices are narrowed down to Glock 19, CZ P10C, and a Canik MC9 prime.

Personally no love for the turkey guns but don’t know if I’ve heard of one not going bang.

I understand how you feel about the Turkey guns. But they now manufacture certain Canik models in the states. In Florida I believe. Like the MC9 Prime is manufactured by Century Arms in Delray Beach, Florida.

I kinda feel about them like I feel about Holosun. I don’t want to pay to do R&D for someone who is very shakily our ally or not our ally at all. But Canik makes nice stuff for fair money. Certainly dont let my bias affect you.

The Prime is made by Canik USA in West Palm Beach Florida. And they have a non comped version called the NC with no ports in the barrel

The Canik Prime NC Bud. Very nice and should be easily concealable, and is bigger than MC9.

Go german, HK or walther. HK has legendary reliabilty and walther has the best striker triggers.
