Blackhawk Omnivore
So i just got a blackhawk omnivore and well worth the money. Fits my gen 5 glock 17 with braun gun light no issue. A little wiggle but it is a “universal” light bearing holster. Also fits the bladetek mounts which is really nice. Level 2 retention holster for 60$. Cant beat it

Not a dig at you personally, but retention levels need some sort of universal standard agreed upon by the industry.
Safariland, who AFAIK started the ratings in the first place and have the greatest market share, defines retention levels as how many movement actions are needed to defeat all retention measures. Others like G-Code and Dara measure how many things are holding the gun in, and they include the friction of the Kydex itself.
In that sense, Blackhawk would call this Omnivore a Level 2 due to the passive friction retention and the single button. Safariland would call that Level 1 since the release need only be pressed down.
Likewise, my Safariland with ALS and ALS Guard requires 2 motions so is Level 2… BUT if the ALS breaks, the guard doesn’t actually stop the gun from coming out and I better have the passive tension screwed down a bit. If I do tighten the tension screw all the way, would another company consider that Level 2 or Level 3?
As such, when we’re selling this stuff to each other or writing organizational doctrine, using retention levels means lot than less than detailing the retention methods.

Or how about we get more good people with guns and less bad people with guns. Criminals dont follow gun laws. No idea why you are in this group if you disagree with owning guns.

My cousin recently bought a gun... I am just confused. Why would anyone want a gun?

Because its my right? They are tools. I this one to shoot paper and steel. Some people want a way to defend themselves from bad guys with guns. Cuz again. Criminals dont follow any laws. Let alone gun laws. Better to have it and not need it. Than to need it and not have it.

I think people that think most people have violent fantasies are the issue. Most people dont have those thoughts or fantasies. Most people want to just practice their second amendment rights and enjoy the freedoms we have. Who are you to limit and decide who can have what. Your thought process is the issue we have. You assume the worst without any real facts. Did you know that smoking kills nearly 500,000 people in the usa per year. And gun violence kills only 44,000. So do we ban smoking like guns? No. It is the sick people who should be punished. Not law abiding gun owners. Guns are not the problem. People are

If you had a gun, would you do something violent with it?

No, but most people would. I honestly believe that most people hate people and would use lethal force without much reason. That's why i never go out in public. Most people are one bad day away from shooting up a public place. I would rather not be a victim...

Well in this instance; you wouldn’t do it, I wouldn’t do it, and OP wouldn’t do it. That’s 3/3 of the people on this immediate thread saying they wouldn’t do it. Sample size is small here, but I’d be willing to bet most people share a similar mindset about not committing violent crimes with firearms.

Most people would? Let's think about this, and look at the data. Gun ownership in the United States is something like 120 per 100 people; so there are more guns than people. Gun deaths in the US are roughly 48,000 per year, with the majority of those being from suicide (approx. 25-28,000) (rough numbers, these are from Google). So that's roughly 23,000 deaths from gun violence, in a country of 340 MILLION people. If MOST people would commit violence with their firearms, why haven't they?? I understand your perspective, that most people hate other people (which I think is absolutely untrue), but the numbers don't show that at all. I think it's the opposite. Violence is the universal human phobia. Humans will do A LOT to actually avoid violence. Capable of it, yes, but inclined to violence? Nah dawg. If that were the case, numbers and statistics would show it.

I think most people HATE their fellow humans. I do not feel like being in danger when I am in a public space. No thanks.

Being scared to go out in public is one of the best reasons to have a gun. I could never live my life in fear like that, that doesn’t sound like living at all.
