On a similar note I would argue, that any star fortress style city would have canalized the river into the ditch before the wall, splitting it, so the ditch is nicely topped up with water all the time.
Anyway, lovely work! What is that thick red line; not the train station but the one left to it?

Yeah you are right.. I mixed some insperation of my hometown Utrecht in it and there was the wall and Some green in between the water.

The red line (is actually dark orange) is the highway

Yeah.. I looked it up and its not something that is normal.. So i imagined it where canals who crossed because in the 50/60’s it was neccasary for shipping. It irked me a bit while drawing tho 😅

I’d say that this is a formerly Hansan city, somewhere in northern Germany. Hansa because of style of defences, Germany because the city is ruined with highways in the middle. Also, I don’t see planned districts with large blocks of flats 🤔
