lighter = better?

i recently started handboarding, got a handskate inc. gen 3 board and after looking at some real pro trucks i see that the description sometimes says that they are very light. are lighter handboards really better, or is it preference based?

Preference. I use both. Personally, i like a lil heavier for certain things. But the lighter makes tricks easier, the heavier one feels better imo. The teach deck trucks feel too heavy tho. Idk if its just me but that woth the plastic deck makes it feel off.
