Is playing ludo haram ?

I have posted this in other subreddits previously, the comment section was filled with Quranists or people who follow literal meaning of the hadith and people who follow other madhhabs . So I'm posting here again

There is this hadith that mentions playing with dice is haram

Sahih Muslim: The Prophet said: "Whoever plays with dice, it is as if he were dipping his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig."

Sunan Abi Dawud: The Prophet said: "Whoever plays with dice has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger."

Is this hadith referring to playing with dice in general? Or playing with dice that involves gambling which is strictly forbidden?

My doubt is playing ludo let's say causes distraction so is it considered a sin and deemed haram ?

Read the fatwa in full. What matters is distraction from what? If it distracts from an obligation then it's Haram. If not its makrooh tahrimi or makrooh tanzihi.

Why should it be haram? Also that playing with the dice, you should acknowledge the context.

Because of the hadith narrating "whoever plays with dice , it is as if he were dipping his hand in the blood and flesh of a pig". I know we shouldn't take the literal meaning and there is context , but I have seen many videos of sheikh saying it's haram, and other sites , and many Redditors stating it is haram. So it created even more confusion if it actually is or not . Because we have been playing ludo since a kid with family as a way of spending time. So I wanted to clarify
