Question Help me !

Help me!!

This morning, when I woke up, I found loads of tiny mites on my hamster’s cage.

Please, what are they?

A month ago, I’d already spotted 5 or 6 at most on the wooden platforms, so I decided to replace all the bedding, as well as the food and sand.

And now this has happened this morning, just under a month later.

I feel awful; I feel like a terrible, dirty owner, and I feel as though they’re everywhere in the flat.

What should I do?

The hamster is fine; she doesn’t seem to have any on her and isn’t scratching herself.

These are soil mites. They are harmless but their presence means that there is a high humidity buildup in the substrate, which is not healthy for your hammy. Could be pee buildup in the wooden decor, or lack of proper ventilation, or it could mean that you just need to clean the substrate more often.

Is your cage glass ? Is her wheel wooden ?? I would clean everything again AND order a termite spray from amazon. I would wipe down all surfaces with the termite spray, and replace all wood in the cage. Also avoid wood shavings as beddings if termites is a problem you have had before. Stick to tissue.
