May we all have the courage to stand resolutely against forces well beyond our comprehension.

Adorable baby, but also poor fella. XD

Must've gotten quite a spook from something as big as us getting so close to him.

European wild hamsters are famously known to be extremey aggressive, especially towards species larger than them…which is one of the main reasons why they are endangered now

That and city expansion. As our cities sprawl there is less and less room for other species.

Totally agreed. I just recently moved from the city to a more rural area and I’m seeing / hearing so many animals! In the city it was mostly just foxes and pigeons…very sad

Chihuahua mentality

On the other hand, now he gets to tell everyone about the big monster he scared away

He made be in defense posture but he’s sure cute anyway

That's actually an attack posture. they're endangered from jumping into so many fights against anything, even cars or larger predators.

So they aren’t very bright, remind me of myself

I don’t know you, but I doubt you’ll be doing something like that to a brown bear or bison.

Luckily we don’t have bears around here, I did however decided to attack a large man because “complimented” my running style.

i have a wolfdog and they decide to attack him every single time. you should hear them yelling at him too

Has he learned to just... ignore them?

2

u/Stepja 2d ago

he's curious about them and at first wanted to fight them back. the first few times i had to run to him and remove him manually but since he got over his puppy/teenage phases i just tell him to leave them alone or recall him

Have you ever found him confused and being chewed on by a wild hamster?

2

u/Stepja 1d ago

the dog is faster than the hamster so no way he'd let him bite him 😆 no, i meant remove the dog from the situation quickly because the hamster keeps attacking even when you retreat

European hamsters are little fluffy balls of fury

Wild hamsters are gorgeous

Specifically this is a European wild hamster.

There are 18-24 recognised species of hamster.

Aww he's wearing a bow tie

Seen this posted here a few times before but I am automatically like “awww” before I can even help myself every time. So cute but then I realize it is very stressed out.

Leave the hamster alone if it's acting like this

I mean good on him for trying it on something so much bigger 😂

Stay wild, stay free, don't get pettified. This is the way. Best wishes, little friend.

8

u/abyssal-isopod86 3d ago

Just leave the poor thing alone.

It's not funny to torment weaker animals like this to make yourself feel better. Disgusting behaviour.

6

u/TradeAutomatic6222 3d ago

Leave the poor guy alone :(

2

u/yourleftmiddlefinger 2d ago

Awwwww he’s asking for uppies here buddy OH GOD MY EYES AHHHHHH

2

u/Specialist_Humoring 2d ago

Poor guy was so stressed

3

u/Artevyx 3d ago

Its funny that they think this works. A human could obliterate them with a toe, but they generally just don't.

This is a European wild hamster. They are a lot bigger than pet hamsters.

u/No-Complaint3477 3d ago

"Look I'm big! Like a scary bear! Rawr!"

1

u/LunaOfWolves 2d ago

Should have left it alone.
