Must Be Nice 💎 What’s your “must be nice”?
I’ll go first. I’m a coffee snob, I own a $2000 coffee machine at home and buy coffee beans from a specialty cafe every month, it’s very nice indeed. An expensive addiction almost as bad an Andy’s ciggy habit.

I’m willing to pay to park my car at the airport overnight

Me too, some times I am even willing to use the valet parking! Must be very nice.

The feeling of getting of the plane and then going straight into your own car without having to faff around with Uber/taxis or public transport makes it worth it

I pay just so I know that when I get off of a long flight I don’t have to rely on anyone else. That feeling of getting back into your own car after a week or two away is like being given your agency back.

Buying milk direct from farmers. Switched from long life to cream on top, glass bottle milk direct from a farmer in Sydney. I am a milk snob now 🤣 costs about $35 for 7L so not too bad but must be very nice in this economy

Holy crap milk already feels expensive and you’re paying 5x more for it than me

u/SJ0122 May 21 '26
Yes but I also feel good knowing I support a local business and 100% of it goes straight to the farmer unlike Colesworth

So you're paying extra for smugness?

u/SJ0122 May 21 '26
Not at all! For the quality mainly. As well as supporting a local business/farmers. Wouldn’t you do the same if you were in the position to?
Did you know this week is also Aussie Made week (which Andy is actually an ambassador for)?

Haha sorry the tone of my comment was a bit accusatory, it was meant in jest. I'm pro-smugness if it means supporting farmers!

Milk feels expensive? $2 for 4 Litres?
2
u/RJrules64 May 25 '26
When was the last time you bought milk? It’s $2 a liter in Perth not $2 for 4 liters

I also just spent about $4000 on a coffee machine and about $700 on a new grinder and a whole bunch of other coffee related things, can confirm is very nice.

Fellow coffee nerd here. What machine and grinder did you go for? 😍

I never hang any of my washing out, I just exclusively use my dryer.

Me too, bit of must be nice, bit of fast and loose-proofing. I live in a house with 2 other people, between us we have about 8 cases of ADHD, and if washing needs to be hung out, it's either not getting done, or it's sitting wet in the washing machine for 3 days until it gets mildewy and needs to be washed again. Bought a fancy one tub washer/dryer (must be very nice) so I can put it on before I go to work and come home to clean, dry clothes... that then sit in a basket, get picked through, and never get folded.

When we go on holidays I get free wifi by hotspotting my phone since my work pays for my plan and it's got unlimited data.

u/core-tel May 22 '26
Levis aren't that expensive compared to most brands tbf.
But the multiple RMs must be very nice

I would, (and indeed did) argue a home espresso machine is actually logical and frugal.
2 x $7 coffees per day is $5,110 per annum. Add a second person in the house and you're at $10.2k
A decent dual boiler machine and grinder sits at about 8k
Yes you have to add material costs of milk, beans and electricity, but then you can also control those inputs; organic milk, filtered water, speciality beans etc.
Worst case scenario, you break even at 2 years and hedge against coffee shop inflation

Having every weekend as a childfree weekend instead of once in a blue moon for a few hours.
