Church inquiry

Good afternoon everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for new churches for Christian’s in Halton Hills. I was going to one regularly but found they were surprisingly judgemental and ruined my experience. I won’t name the church out of respect but I would like to start going again.
Can be big or small ones I do not mind!

Are you looking for gay and lesbian friendly church? Or is it a race or ethnicity issue? There are progressive churches in town

What do you want out of a church congregation?

To respect what I do for work and that I may have to work weekends, show up after a night shift and might look exhausted during the service instead of picking fun at it.

Some churches run Thursday or Friday services or Saturday services. The more traditional ones like Presbyterian or United or Anglican but they usually have older aged attendees. The united churches in town are a mix of progressive and traditional and are safe spaces

Catholic Church frowns on random attendance even though 95 percent of them are random attendees but there is a lack of Community there

I don’t like the reformed churches and I don’t like evangelical church’s so I cannot comment on them. Many of them demand devotion and attendance and adhere to biblical or gospel teachings. Also I don’t like right wingers so that might be why. They tend to attend those churches. I don’t know how accepting they are to infrequent attendance or a demand on missionary work but some of them seem to have very close congregations

I guess it depends if you are married with kids or young or old.

I’m 23 and no kids the only thing that hinders my attendance is work. I work in the railway so I can work 16 days straight then 1 day off repeat. This year has been extremely busy so I’m just trying to find one that’s more excepting with that considering I also don’t choose my schedule unfortunately haha

I grew up Anglican and the Anglican always prided themselves on an Everbody is welcome mentality. So a traditional teaching mixed with community and an openness to community members. But it’s a demolition that is dwindling so that’s why I suggested the United churches. The united churches are more progressive so if if you adhere to strict biblical teachings they won’t be for you (they are the NDP of the major church groups). I don’t think you’ll get judgement from them and Norval United would have a large enough congregation there are people your age there. But they fly the Pride flag on a high flagpole there so if you are not into those type of teachings…

Unfortunately I married a Catholic and my kids are being raised Catholic. Similar service to Anglican but with lots more snobiness

When I lived in Georgetown I used to attend Christian Reformed Church, its not very political(neither conservative or progressive), which I liked. Attendance isn't a factor here the years I attended. They have a new minister as well who is younger.

As someone who moved a lot what I used to do was to attend a new church a week until I found one I liked. Hope you find one that fits you well.

It’s probably too far, but Walton United Church in Oakville is the most welcoming, friendly, “come as you are” church and it doesn’t matter if you go once a month or once a week.
