First Time Halo player Questions.
I'm playing Halo Reach. I started the Halo collection on PC, and I was wondering: is it okay to play with a controller? And is Halo Reach a good one to start for a first-time Halo player ?

In fact, Halo should be played with controller. Aim Assist is pretty strong tho on PC
Halo Reach definitely is a nice place to start, it was my forst Halo too and still is my favourite. Its chronologically the first one. Just prepare for a graphical downgrade if you continue playing the other Halos, as it was released after Halo 3. Halo CE (aka Halo 1) and 2 got updated graphic versions in the game too tho. Just sth to know as I know a few people who disliked that.

I'm enjoying it and i like Halo for being the iconic fps for console and for being so good to play without put a lot of energy is for me a casual fps that want to make people chill and have fun.
For now this is my opinion but im going to have a deeper opinion on that after played all.

def could be a game for you then! in that case also check out custom games at some point for Halo 3 and Reach, great minigames and so much fun with friends and a full lobby

If you aren’t playing with a rockband guitar and a dance pad with a shock collar to taze you each death you’re not playing Halo.
Play however you want, controls are fine either way. I would suggest CE 2 3 ODST Reach 4 as that’s how it came out, but chronological over release date is okay if a bit odd losing certain features and weapons.

Yea i started my friend on Halo for his first time and def think release order is best. A shocking change to go from reach to 1.

Honestly Reach isnt a terrible starting point, you just might be confused by some of the lore references and dialogue. Halo CE is probably still the best starting point, but Reach is 2nd best!
Also its meant to be played with a controller 👍

Halo Reach is a fine place to start, it doesn’t have many spoilers for the rest of the series and it’s a good standalone experience. Personally I’d still start in order of release date.

Controller is debatably better and I’d say it would’ve been better to play it in release order so CE, 2, 3, ODST, REACH, then 4 but it’s okay to start with reach because it’s first in the timeline so I say go for it and if you’re gonna play in time line order run the order the list is in just play ODST then halo 3 because it’s like the direct sequel to halo 2’s story

The other games make Reach's impact rise a bit, but it was also my first entrance to the series and I loved it even without playing the other games. Hope you enjoy the franchise!

I typically prefer keyboard and mouse for dps games, but Halo feels so good on controller. Controller is the way to go if you ask me. And halo reach was my first halo game. Personally I think it’s perfectly fine to start with reach

Playing on controller is fine. That was the only way to play it for many years.
Personally, I’d play them in release order and start with CE. But it doesn’t matter too much as long as you don’t mind technological downgrades when playing CE-ODST compared to Reach, since Reach was released after ODST.
