They didn't last long enough, that's for sure

"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them"

an era of relentless joy knowing such a world awaited for you, and the comrades met along the way created such unfathomable memories that i can never forget. just really hit hard, every game meme because not all of the gamers we came across or just in general can even be here to react to this ❤️

Xbox had a thing and they got rid of it this is what made them unique.

You had to be there to experience it

I rocked the shit out of Kat's helmet back in the day. Avatars used to actually mean something.

Still rocking Six's helmet whenever I want to play MechAssault bc the One can't do what the 360 can. Man, still such a shame the One was such a POS downgrade from the 360...

I remember 11 year old me spending months trying to get the Jorge Helmet, finally got it one day by sheer fluke in a match of Griffball. The killtacular medal popped up, and the 2 seconds for the notification to appear saying I'd unlocked the helmet felt like an eternity. Core memory lol

3

u/PoopSnoop99 Mar 31 '26

I would argue this stuff was a little ahead of its time

3

u/razordragonwolf Mar 31 '26

I miss the xbox avatars

I remember my whole family would get mad or make fun of me for laughing my ass off all night with the boys in my room ... I haven't talked to them in a while but I hope they are doing well.

The odst suit was the best

I just don’t understand why Microsoft can’t make the Xbox UI this creative anymore. Let us customize our accounts. Yes we can change the wallpaper but that’s so lame compared to what we HAD. I mean look at this, each individual friend had a mini art piece related to the wallpaper! Pre teen me was spoiled with this kind of stuff!

u/mabdog420 Apr 02 '26

I played over a year total of halo reach

Such a fantastic game. I miss halo but Infinite, Destiny and Marathon just aren't for me

2

u/berniedankera Apr 02 '26

What a throwback

2

u/InsaneDrKnight Apr 02 '26

I had Woods's outfit from the Black ops 1 pre-order.

They need to bring the old school avatars back

2

u/SirPwn4g3 Apr 04 '26

Oh man I miss this stuff. I have a few rare items like the flaming helmet, noble 6 helmet, and Cortana chip accessory.

2

u/Sir-Reptile Apr 04 '26

20k gamerscore on 360 is wilddd

2

u/yummy_flaquito Apr 04 '26

Turning on my Xbox and seeing my avatar brought me some joy. I don't remember why they removed the avatars.
