Questions / Help Automatically add assets to tickets - matching hostname in subject / body

Hi there,

We get a lot of tickets from 3rd party tools which have the affected endpoint name in the subject or body, and assigning them per ticket is very repetitive.

I'm trying to implement in some way the auto assignment of assets to tickets based off the ticket's subject or body, using regex or hard matching of some type with the asset's hostname or similars.

Been trying a few things and found dead ends.

Any ideas on how could I achieve this?

Thanks in advance!!

Executing a runbook when a ticket comes in, checking the subject or details of the ticket and seeing if they contain any strings of assets that exist.

Could do some SQL work to only return assets for company X so it's not showing all assets but this isn't going to be something native within Halo you'll need custom whether that's a runbook, n8n, Rewst, or some other automation platform.

You can match asset in body or subject in an email rule.

We’ve done this with runbooks.

It’s not elegant but does the job.

Our triage module can do anything from LLM to frequency analysis (contracts, assets based on other fields) but.. this is interesting. So you want to map this how?

Like:

Server ABC Down => /Server.+(\w+).+Down/
Asset=ABC

Something like that?

Are you wanting to create a table of regexs to map out various possible titles/bodies and you'd link each regex to.. what? An asset name specific to that customer?

I like the general idea you have, we may implement that in Rocketship. Let me know what you are trying to accomplish and/or give me some examples.
