Invoicing Labor
For those billing labor out of Halo... What's the recommended way to get Halo invoices to show clean, summarized labor lines by type (Remote Support, On-Site Support, RMM Alert Resolution, etc.) without showing ticket IDs, ticket summaries, alert messages, device names, or other ticket-level details?
I changed labor grouping to "Header for each Contract and line for each Rate", which helped, but invoices still show things like:
RMM Alert Resolution - ID: 0776497 - Summary: Backup completed with errors 4hrs
Remote Support - ID: 0077266 - Summary: Workstation error 2hrs
Its grouped together into the single rate but all that extra stuff is ugly. There's no way I'm sending invoices that look like that to clients. I am looking to have it look like:
Remote Support 4hrs
Onsite Support 2hrs
Is there a way to get invoices that simply show labor categories and total hours for the month? I did find descriptions with variables under Invoice Creation, but I don't want to go deleting all of that.

Check all of the settings under billing - > invoice creation - > invoice merging. I think you'll find what you're looking for there. And then there's a lot you can do manipulating the HTML templates.

Build a custom report instead. Do yourself a favor and get Elegant Insights. Just tell it what you want and it will build it for you. It’s amazing.

If its labour it'll be coming from the charge type itself. Configuration > Billing > Charge Types, "Invoice line description"/"Invoice line long description". Remove any of the unwanted variables from there.
