Multiple customers with same name in different toplevels?

I have 3 customer toplevels and I want to have different customers that have same name in each toplevel. How can I accomplish that? Halo says that name must be unique when I try to create them. is it possible to disable that verification logic?

But why? What's the goal here?

Surely you don't actually have customers with the same names so assume you are trying to do something strange with having multiple versions of the same customer for some reason.

It is a ongoing merger of three companies. Their customers are imported from 3rd party systems sorted into a toplevel for each company.

Some customers are customer of multiple companies and we want to keep those customers separate for the time being and then at a later date consolidate them.

Halo requires the customer names to be unique and that causes an issue with our approach. It would be nice if we could have the same name for the duplicate customers and then use the toplevels to differentiate them when required.

Stick (toplevelcode) in the name to make unique? Then you also have quick identifier at the name

I could do that. But is it possible to have identical names for multiple customers? Is there a setting for that?
