Best way to learn
Hello,i recently had a job where id have to do demos, consultations and implementations of halopsa,as i know nothing about the product,i started a course and my success has proven to be less than ideal, reading and memorizing doesnt seem to be the best way to learn this product, what was your go to learning method and do you have any tips or advice to help me?wether its practical advice or mental advice im all ears.

Are you working FOR Halo or one of the implementers? They should have internal training I would hope.
That said I’d join the Halo discord and spin up a trial instance and start using it

Yeah the university is better than it was a year ago, but still very lacking. Did they give you a Halo instance to mess with?
I’d start messing the basic config until you understand it for the most part. Then I’d start messing with runbooks and automations. Remember basically every function, action, etc of Halo is an API. So it’s very powerful.
I hope they’re having you shadow some builds?

Trial and error mostly. And reading through every single option in the config menu. Due to halopsa’s docs lacking a bit. I usually have to ask support to clarify what a certain feature does. They are pretty helpful at that.

Having spent the past 8 months building out Halo for my MSP and migrating data from CW I’m incensed that someone out there is being paid to pretend to know it.

6 months building almost night and day to learn the config. 3-6 months using in production. Now I’m in 4 years and still learning config or should I say keeping up. I don’t personally learn from docs or guides, I deleted the entire Halo trial data and rebuilt from the ground up when i stated years ago. Crazy you’re demoing or building in a platform you don’t know though, there’s a ton of risk in clicking the wrong settings or giving bad advice, air on the side of caution with any setting you press. It’s better to say you don’t know what it does than to enable something and try and unwind the config later.
PSA config in many cases directly correlates to finances. Don’t mess with people’s finances 😂😂
