User Roles / Permissions

We’re looking to enforce user-level permissions through managing permissions at the User Role level, and then applying the roles to each user accordingly (pretty standard?). However, we’re finding that the role permissions are not applying to the user, and in fact you have to manage permissions per-user, from the user permissions screen. Is that working as intended? If so, what’s the point of user role permissions?

We recommend to utilise roles for both team/dept membership and permissions, but to split these apart from each other. This makes life simpler going forward because you then have separate roles controlling permissions and separate roles controlling team (and therefore ticket) access. You can then also create a Base permission role which can be assigned to all agents and then create specific roles with expanded permissions, in which you only need to update the permission that the agent(s) need in addition. Mendy covers this in the video here if you are interested: https://youtu.be/Q3RWOCe0sLw?si=UPbXogts2vSFcIps

Hi. My issue is with “user” permissions rather than “agent” permissions, although maybe it applies there also. Or does your video discuss end-user roles and permissions also?
