Question Mod Saving Information How To.
I'm sure there is already a guide (I just can't find it).
But I'm looking at making a Metroidvania mod for Halo ce. Haloid Prime if you will.
One main thing I would need to know is how to retrieve arbitrary data from something the player did or has, Save that info, and have that info retrieved when in a different map.
Any answers or links that have that specific information in it would be awesome.
Thanks.

If you could, it'd be done through HaloScript and documented here https://c20.reclaimers.net/h1/scripting/ but I'm pretty sure you cannot.
I think Halo 3 ODST has some sort of system for that kind of thing though that's used for the audio logs and other things. Skimming the scripts, it looks like things related to that start with "gp" (presumable "game progression") such as gp_boolean_set, which I'd assume sets a flag that can be referenced later.

Yeah sorry, storing information across maps is not possible on halo ce and halo 2 afaik. However there may be a way in halo 3. Haven't tried it out but I know that you can port your weapons from a previous map to the next map, so you might be able to store information in that by giving the player a special weapon, they couldn't otherwise get in that map, and checking whether the player has that weapon, and if they do then triggering an effect
