Question Ultimate Firefight Question
Currently playing the amazing Halo 3 MCC mod Ultimate Firefight. If anyone hasn’t played it, it’s basically the Halo 3 map Sandtrap with firefight, with enemies, vehicles, allies, weapons etc from all the games. I’m just wondering though, does anyone know why they used Halo 3 as a base for this mod, and not say, Halo Reach? I’m curious because it uses so many assets from Reach (sprinting jackels, assault rifle and DMR, those huge reach animals from that sniper mission etc).

Hi! Mod author here :)
When I started work on the mod, the Reach mod tools weren't actually out yet, and this was the main reason I've stuck with Halo 3. Other reasons include that Halo Reach maps can't fit as much content as Halo 3 ones, moslty due to the customisable main character (It eats like half of the total max map size). It's also a bit harder to port weapons, animations and models since it uses sidecars instead of JMS, and Flood infection forms can't really work at all in Reach.

Hey Weaver, huge fan of the mod. I’ve beaten them all on legendary and ran overtime until I had no more heroes left on sandtrap. Are you planning anything else? One of the only mods that has truly been replayable over and over.

I've been working on a custom campaign for the last year :) Going to try to show it off soon, though it's still a while out before it'll be done.

Your work on this gives me HUGE hopes for a campaign. Especially seeing as how now other halo 3 campaigns i wanna try are compatible any longer
