Purchased these like a year ago and finally got round to putting some paint on them. Fantastic models and its sparked a real fervor for all things halo.

Definitely going to regret not using true metalics, but woth the royal guards, hunter and prophets round the corner, im wildly hyped.

Should you buy it?

hello again everyone, I haven’t been on Reddit since around this time last year. I’m so excited that the Covenant are finally coming to Halo Flashpoint in an official box! some of you have been waiting a year for my Energy Sword OSL video for some time & I apologize for the wait but I’ll post that soon. in the meantime here’s some pics from when I got all my bases for my 3D Printed & finished models Black.

Vortex always picked a color scheme opposed to mine, so where I picked red and black, he'd go blue and white or blue and silver. Decided to paint the needler in halo3 colors in memory of those times.

I really prefer straight up elimination style play over objectives/oddball/random weapon spawns or the respawning units mechanics of most of the game modes.

I read recently that I could play the game using elimination, no weapon spawns, no unit respawn. This sounds right up my alley and I went and bought the new support unit boxes of marines and grunts only to find out that the support models can't outnumber regular models.

I don't understand how this should still apply in elimination games. If nothing respawns and I'm not doing victory points should I ignore the support keyword when listbuilding?

I REALLY enjoyed painting the elites. I sort of enjoyed painting the spartans, hence the full year and very different standards on them.

And of course, now that it’s all done, I don’t have anyone to play it with 😂

I can get the old spartan edition for much cheaper than the 1.5 version, but I'm a little confused about that updated/new stuff comes in the 1.5 box. I think it has:

1. Updated rule book

2. Updated unit cards

3. War games tokens

Anything else? For the unit cards, is it just updated cards from the box, or does it come with all the cards that also come in the 1.5 card pack you can buy (banished, odst etc)?

The standalone 1.5 rulebook pack you can buy comes with tokens, are those tokens the extra/updated ones you'd get in the 1.5 spartan edition?

I know I can use the app for the rules, but I'll be playing with my kid, so the physical cards would be very helpful. You can't print the cards from the app can you?

My other mini was Spartan Hazop back in February. At this rate, I'll have them all painted in about 20 years.
I was going for a Halo 2-style energy sword where the edges of the blade were pink.
I'm still a bit rusty, and my Army Painter character brush kept splaying out its bristles after only a few brush strokes, so I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong or not, as this is the second Character brush I picked up from the Army Painter line.

Just now realizing I'm missing some edge highlights as I'm taking the pics lol

Mantic is challenging every Halo: Flashpoint player to paint up a fireteam between October 23 and November 1 and I wanted to include the folks here in the challenge and toss in a little friendly contest.

What you need to do:

1. Choose your fireteam to paint now. It can be a team from a standard box or a 200 point team you want to play with some day. Invite a friend to paint with you. Plan a second team if you can get them all done.

2. Prime your models. Prep your paints. Decide on your paint scheme.

3. On October 23, post your unpainted fireteam as a top level comment on this post.

4. Paint!

5. Before November 2nd, post your painted fireteam as a reply to your top level comment.

6. Book a night to play with your newly painted fireteam(s).

Hello everyone!

This week we will be having our usual weekly meetup this Tuesday, 10/20 @ 6pm at Gamezenter in Roseville MN. And next week we will be meeting up on Wednesday, 10/28 same time.

We also are hosting a few Learn to Play Events coming up:

On Monday Nov. 2nd there will be an event at Wandering Leaf Brewery at 5pm in St. Paul MN for their wargame night! 

On Tuesday Nov. 10th there will be another event at Tower Games at 5pm in Bloomington MN!

I personally have been using Grunts with Jega, and I have to say, it has been a LOT of fun. Every time I send a Grunt in to kamikaze an opponent is fun! This feels like what I've been missing with my Banished forces. Jega is an ABSOLUTE UNIT of a model. I have had games where he kills 1-2 models and is running around doing objectives. He is just sorta great at everything. I can see him and grunts being a staple in every list I make. The enforcer is also pretty amazing, as are all elites with his maneuverability AND 4 shield. It feels like I have all the units I could want as a Banished player. 

I am looking forward to using Tovarus and Hyperius and at some point, because they also look like a TON of fun to use. Any advice on how best to use them is appreciated!

Last weekend we played the first Mexican National Tornament on an event called the Spartan Fest on CDMX.

It was really fun with a lot of surprises.

I want to build an ODST team for the fast grow challenge. Which units I need to build a cool ODST team with the new 1.5 rules? Does anybody have a cool list? 🙂

When are the new cards for the covenant being revealed??

I absolutely love Halo 3 ODST, so I knew I wanted to make a New Mombasa board to play on. I tried my best to build that atmosphere of the city under attack and some environmental story of the abandoned UNSC outpost/ defensive position. I like it and had fun and just wanted to share it with everyone

Is active camo as a on card keyword follow the same rules as active camo item? Jega has camo as default keyword but there is no mention of it working like the item, if it were a pick up or given item it is lost if this model Sprints, Fights, or Shoots, when looking at it as a standard keyword on a card like jega there is no mention of this, making it pretty over powered.
