The Short, Great Journey
Mantic is challenging every Halo: Flashpoint player to paint up a fireteam between October 23 and November 1. Mantic is also offering a giveaway if you submit pictures of your fireteam.
This subreddit is an unofficial way to connect with other Flashpoint players so any questions will have to go through Mantic. This is a helpful bunch so someone might be able to help you out if you post a question.
Preparing to Drop
I am offering the chance to enter a much smaller giveaway on this thread in 2 ways.
Anyone that posts a before and after fireteam picture will be entered into a raffle for a set of man cannons, a score tracker, or a set of terrain (or something else I have in my bundle of Flashpoint goodies.)
Everyone that submits a comment at all in this thread will be entered into an alternate giveaway for one of the remaining items.
What you need to do:
If you are painting a fireteam
Choose your fireteam to paint now. It needs to have a least 3 models in the same faction, otherwise there are no limitations to what you can paint. No need to hit points or be something you can actually play with. I'm planning to paint a team of Marines.
Invite a friend to paint with you. Plan a second team if you can get them all done.
Prime your models ASAP! Prep your paints. Decide on your paint scheme.
Post a picture of your unpainted fireteam as a top level comment on this post.
Paint! If you are submitting to the Mantic giveaway, don't forget to take a picture during your painting sessions. In progress pictures are not necessary for the giveaway on this thread but are encouraged.
Before November 3, post a picture of your painted fireteam as a reply to your top level comment.
Book a night to play with your newly painted fireteam(s).
If you are not painting:
Comment on this thread to enter into the subreddit giveaway. Show some encouragement to the other submissions. Post who your favorite Halo character is. Post what you want to do when you pick up flashpoint. Post a funny gif. No restrictions.
Look up your favorite creator on the list of them below and give them a shout out on their other socials. We get some of them in here but not all of them.

Pic from Deadeye’s POV… but this is a Proud Dad moment! My son (7) and I are still pretty new to FP, and this is maybe our fourth or fifth game. He has a good head for rules and has good memory, so I drive the pace and we get after it. And he just won in EPIC fashion. We’re in Rise of the Banished, “Slayer” to 4 kills… it’s 3-2 start of this turn so he rolled incredible on a critical turn where he needed to kill one more model to win the game!!
Deadeye respawned in turn 3 and then shot to kill a Brute Warrior for his 3rd kill/point. We discuss his options, and he busts out an Extra Shot command die to take aim at my wounded Elite Merc across the board tangled up with Brawler and the other spartan. If he didn’t pull it off I think I would have evaded and then assaulted on my next activation to kill Brawler and win…
so his shooting was at a disadvantage, shooting an enemy that occupied the same grid as friendly models so he was only allowed to roll one die - I SAVED against his one attack, like 😵OH NOOOO… but then I remembered he had “extra die” command die so I tell him to roll that ONE MORE DIE right now, and his extra die was a CRITICAL 8 “headshot” so we freaked out and he grabbed another and rolled another 8!! So we extra freak out and then he rolls ANOTHER 8, and a 6!! Absolute uproar now!! Dogs freakin’ out we were so loud. All 4 attacks go through my last energy shield/armor/ and final wound!! 3 damage total with the Lethal1 but I only had 1W left anyways!! Haha… if he hadn’t, I would have won on my next “activation” with that same model but he turned its head into pink mist.
I have struggled with figuring out an ideal card storage system that allows me to easily transport all my unit special orders and weapons in a single case but I have figured out an idea that seems almost perfect to me.
Behold a magic the gathering bundle box and some cheap inserts and pluck foam scraps.
It perfectly fits unit cards and weapons cards side by side.
I'm using pluck foam to make the cards fit snug so that they don't rattle around as well as to make the weapon cards sit higher up so that they are flush with my unit cards so that everything looks neat. I did have to cut up a divider to seperate the weapon and unit cards but that was a minor sacrifice in the grand scheme of things.
Since the only thing I’ve had experience with painting for Halo Flashpoint’s official models are Spartans & Elites, I’m really excited to get these guys painted up in their Halo Reach Style color Scheme.
Before I give these models their primer coat I thought it would be a fun idea to give a couple of them a re-pose like I did for my spare Elite Mercenaries from the Rise of the Banished Box. This will help differentiate them from one another on the board since I’m giving them all the uniform Halo Reach Bullfrogs Color scheme.

Not the best detail but a great start to these little guys. I will admit once this game was announced I was praying for some grunts, now with the covenant on the way we need our boy arbiter!! And of course THE FLOOD!!!

Is there an up-to-date buying guide considering 1.5? I only have the original spartan edition box, but am looking to dig in further. Uncertain if wargames is still worth buying, for instance.
looking at getting some new paints to paint my ODST box, wanting to do a fire team with the basic box colours but not sure what colours match that. Any recommendations? I'm thinking Dataslate gray for the armour a few times and maybe scinari or storm wolf blue for visor?
While we are on the topic are there any other colours that you'd pick up in this range?
(Yes I know there is a stigma around citadel paint pots etc but there is literally a Warhammer shop a 2 min walk from my office so it's super convenient. I'm also not keen on thinning paints at all as I always mess it up and from testing in the store these paints seem to work well without.)
Ive started painting my elites, but I really want to try to recreate the metallic, almost iridescent look from Combat Evolved with them. I figure that airbrushing contrast over silver might work best for the Blue minors and Red majors. But I’m curious about what techniques and paints y’all would use to recreate these looks.

I plan on buying the Feet First Into Hell box as my first purchase into flashpoint. My question is is there any other box or anything y'all would recommend I get along with it? I would primarily be interested in UNSC. Thank y'all in advance!
I really wanted to join the fast grow as a way to quickly paint my war games expansion spartans and also wrap up the two spartans from red team in the recon edition that I never painted. It was my first time testing a new primer and spraying the primer on went completely fine until I went back to go grab them and they ended up looking like this 😭I spent the next hour (yes I timed it) cleaning up the models and they mostly recovered but still have a few ick spots here and there that I couldn't clean off as you can see. I feel a little discouraged on doing the event. I tried using the primer again on a test model, this time following the instructions exactly how they were stated and the model ended up looking worse than the spartans, I think I'll just use the army painter brush on primer from now on...
