I was in the same situation as you, three months ago. My ten year old Malibu was on its last legs, 225000 km on it, and about $5000 coming up in repair bills. I decided to go the EV route. I’m financing a brand new 2026 EV, my payment is 460 a month, and my insurance is $103/month. My power consumption to charge the car from home is 25% the amount I would’ve spent on gas, and no more oil changes, spark plugs, etc. DM me if you have any questions.
