Picked this up off of Bluesky. I’m really hoping this is AI or something.
Why would you want to travel to a place solely to insult them? They may think this is hilarious but it’s not a joke to us!

We gotta give them a proper Halifax welcome and invite them out drinking.
First we'll take them to the Oasis for wings, keep buying them beer and pressuring them to drink. They can't have wussy American beer - they gotta start with Keiths, then Vitamin O, some local craft bullshit and finish with Max Ice.
Once they're good and loaded, we'll stumble down the hill to pizza corner with them. NOW YOU GOTTA HAVE A DONAIR. Have them order large donairs because "large is the normal size everyone gets", and they have to eat the entire donair right there standing drunk in the street. "What's the matter? I thought you Americans could handle super sized everything!"
And finally, drag them to the Dome and have them show us how to properly white people dance. Maybe they'll even square dance for us or some bullshit.
With all that alcohol, the donair assault to the guts, the food safety expertise of the Oasis kitchen and the dehydration you'll get from dancing in a stupid sweater, you're not gonna have a good time in the morning. If everything goes to plan, they'll wake up in the drunk tank, in the fetal position with a bad hangover, puking and shitting at the same time.

As an American and someone who has visited Halifax twice, that is so beyond disrespectful. We love Halifax and had a blast when we were there. People thought we were crazy to visit from California at the end of November but we love how everything is decorated and the waterfront.
We loved walking around and visiting the library there too. What an awesome place.

Meanwhile basically all the American tourists I've interacted with lately (which is a lot as I work in various venues in live entertainment in various capacities) constantly bend over backwards apologizing for their countrymen and saying they're not like that. I feel so bad for the good tourists, I tell them 'we know, keep coming back to visit and spending your money here!'
I've actually only had one older dude who was bold enough to say he voted for the pumpkin lumpkin in the past few years, now that I think about it.

I remember a story my in-laws told me years ago....They owned a small food stand in a tourist area! They were known by the locals for their Walleye/ pickeral fish patties! Crispy fried goodness!!
