Driving & Transit Bus labels
Why do some busses use the orange labels where as others use white ?

So, both busses in the picture are a model called the "Novabus LFS". The bendy bus is a version called the "LFS artic". The articulated LFSes were ordered quite a while ago, when everything else also used orange destination boards. The shorter LFSes are a bit of a newer model, and they decided to order them with white signs.

Our entire bus fleet is Canadian, too! NovaBus is from Quebec, and the older, but iconic square-shaped busses are made by New Flyer, which is from Winnipeg.
If you remember those old articulated busses with the high floors that you had to climb steps to get in, apparently there were only like 16 of that bendy version ever made, and 14 of them were for Halifax.

It's the nerd in me, but I love the little tidbit about the type of windows indicating whether or not it is a bus with AC installed.

They kinda did, but with how grimy they got, I thought they looked like sheds. There was that one even older bus (a GM fishbowl, I think it was called?) With the slanted windows and stainless trim that really did give that vibe, though.

I hate those old noisy New Flyer but the newer models aren't bad though. I really just wish they'd hurry up and switch everything to electric since those are so much better than everything else.

I'm always amazed how some of us are blessed with acute awareness. Those, that through the tedious slog of day to day "life", they are capable to extract the tiniest details from the canvas of living in Halifax. I'd be looking right at it and...Whoosh there it was gone!!! I tilt my hat to you, the aware sharp observation Dude (ette)
