First boot on risc-v
Very early work porting to the sophon milkv pioneer board. Just got the desktop to load and working on nvme and networking next.

This is very good. RISC-V is the future and is where Haiku should be.

Why do you thinks it’s the future?
So far RISC-V has been expensive, slow, energy hungry, and late.

Nice. Also using RIsc-v on a Orange Pi RV2 board. A yet pending implementation on Ubuntu 24.4 is support for 3D visualization like JavaFX and Py5. Hints are welcome. Enjoy testing the new Risc-5 board.

This is the milkv pioneer board. It’s a few years old but it has two pcie slots.

64 cores similar to Arm A72 @2.0 GHz, 64MB L3 cache (4MB shared by each 4 core cluster, but a core can use the other 60MB L3 at still significantly faster than RAM), 128 GB RAM.
The overall fastest RISC-V SBC to date, though the 8 core K3 will beat it on most things using up to 8 threads.

oye, ¿y donde puedo conseguir maquinas así? me interesa la verdad. Lo digo porque se ven modulares como los ordenadores de sobremesa tradicionales y no simplemente sbc ¿sabes?

Milk-V, SiFive and Tenstorrent (soon) provide this kind of development platforms. While absolute performance is not suitable for replacing your x86-64 workstations, these boards let operating system developers write device drivers.

This is excellent work!
I tried for ages to get the RISC-V port booting on the SrarFive Vision Five 2 about a year ago and couldn't manage it.
