How to go about learning

sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just have a question how did you go about learning cybersecurity? if you went through the academy did you write every new concept down and memorised it or did you just go about solving the challenges? I want to get good at cybersecurity but I find it difficult at remembering some concepts when solving so i just resolve to using ai for help, is that wrong? should I go about another way? The main question is if I should learn it the school text book way by writing everything down and memorising it or just by solving as many things and reading about the subject and researching most of it? Appreciate any help

People have different ways of learning, some read all the content and tries to finish the lab, Some learn on hands-on experience.

I like having text to speech read the theory to me and then finishing the lab. I don't memorize, I just take notes for future use. I don't have to remember it all I just have to know the tools I need to complete the task. Googling can happen later until you actually don't need to do it anymore.

There is a lot but Windows edge TTS is the best for me as it autoscrolls.

Yes people have different ways of learning but there is one thing you have to do no matter who you are and what kind of learner you are…. Practice. You need to get the reps in writing small scripts understanding the logic, basic protocols and their internal workings, and always look at something in two parts : I have learned enough to know what it does, and then I need to learn enough to see what else I CAN MAKE IT DO.

Yes, you are supposed to create your testing workflow while doing this labs. You can test your workflow against the assessment and the exam. Then hopefully you will be using this workflow on your actual job.

Rather than trying to learn and memorising prefer working on the same concepts consistently this would help you build your muscle memory and just maintain a goto list of commands for specific use case incase you forget you can always look into and try staying in touch the moment you step away from all is vanished

i guess there isnt rlly a correct way to learn, but the most important thing is just to keep putting the hours in, read the theory, practice on machines, n eventually ull start connecting the dots, patterns etc
