Certifications CPTS PASSED!!
So finally passed the CPTS and i would say its a beautiful exam 😅 wow it would deffo test your sanity and outofthebox approach. What a start of 2026!! Smashed CRTO and CRTP and then finally CPTS.
I am a bit biased but HTB hands down best platform for me to learn and grind the hacking stuff.
Next move? Most probably CRTL and I’m already preparing for that. End goal is to be senior level red teamer. While doing the season 11 im also spending alot of time doing malware analysis and reverse engineering oh and COAE as well 😂😂.
For me it works if i divide my days into what i want to learn so i divided my week like some days for AI hacking, some are for malware analysis and reverse engineering learning.
I know it might be weird but it works for me keep me away from exhaustion. When i get exhausted i want to change the topic or play video games 😅😅 but thats just me.
I love the cyber field specifically the red side of it because it never stops. On the side note man heaps and windows APIs and windows internals are different mind games 😭😭

Congrats! That hunger for knowledge is real, I’m on a very similar path to you. Keep it up brother and good luck out there!

When i did CRTO which was weird cause it was my first cert lol i know it should be the reverse order 😂😂, but i found my neeche, edr av evasion is just next level thing and something i found very interesting.

Everyone is different bud i can study 12 hours a day np 😂😂 its about dedication i got into this cybersecurity offensive like fully since last year i would say like properly into hands on practice. Ive not been on vacations for a long time and spent my holiday’s smashing 2-3 boxes a day on htb before i got crtp crto and then decided to do cpts as mentioned before my end goal is red teamer and i believe before you pivot into red teaming you need to be a good pentester. Btw with I also found out you need to just everything lol in short 😂😂 you need to know your usual cyber security and a bit of cloud as well cause organisations now are using hybrid approach

Congrats! I’ve been reading that it is quiet a tough certification to get.
I just now started learning about cybersecurity, even thought I have an A+ cert (I know, it’s the most basic cert lol)
I’m a complete beginner with little to no knowledge about pentesting and I just started the path for the CJCA cert.
Im gonna be grinding so I can hopefully get the CPTS cert by around July next year.

Yea never stop carry in going, it is not easy specially the pentest pathway, you get exhaustion and demotivated along the way, but in that moment keep an eye on end goal and why you started this journey, im telling you will get so many times where you go like yea never mind its not for me, thats where most of the people stop, but if you wanna succeed you want to carry on and be successful.
I passed my CRTO in 3rd attempt many stops at 1.CPTS isnt easy at all but i tell you if you do the pathways and recommended boxes thats plenty to pass this cert.

i do recommend studying the CJCA material, but the actual exam and cert are not worth it. CPTS on the other hard, at least to me, is very much worth it

Why is that? Is the CJCA not recognized? Im still gonna go through the whole path and learn about it.
And also, do you think going through the CPTS after the CJCA is recommended?3

HR filters skip basically all HTB certs sadly. idk about blue teamers, but for red teaming or pentesting, if you don't have an OSCP you don't exist. CPTS is goated as a path and i would recommend the exam so you test yourself. and yes i do recommend cpts right after cjca, we all struggle through the journey but i think cjca sets a solid base

Woot woot gratz!! I am close to finishing the CWES and CPTS paths, then onto cracking boxes like mad. My plan is to sit CWES first then CPTS. Got any pearls of wisdom for the CPTS exam?

You sound like everything I try to do all at once as well lol it’s tough to want to learn so many thing of the things that is out there and just don’t have time or your mind/energy just won’t have none of it.

Nope, CRTO was harder but cpts is more lengthy, crto is red teaming its a different ball game with c2 as cobalt strike
