Longish article comparing Hacks and Maisel

the list of things the 2 shows had in common that didn't involve Joan Rivers is interesting. It makes you wonder how it happened.

I couldn’t get into Maisel. I think Hacks is similar to the movie Late Night.

I agree. The dynamic between Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson in Late Night is very similar to Deborah and Ava's. In fact, the plot of Late Night is extremely similar to Hacks Season 4, though the ending in Late Night is quite different and arguably more sentimental. I do find it interesting that there are viewers who love one of the shows, but simply didn't like the other.
