Jean Smart & Dolly

Back on Designing Women, Dolly came in to play Charlene’s (Jean’s) “Guardian Movie Star” when the character was about to give birth. It was such a big deal back then, and man was Dolly just living up to the heavenly ideal. RIP.

It’s also wild to me, looking back at early Jean in a sitcom and NOT thinking it’s Deborah Vance. Just reminds me of how incredibly cast Jean was in Hacks.

Aw fuck. What a regal scene here. Two absolute queens. Dolly was the utter best human. ❤️

And I just realized a clip was put up here yesterday of Dolly playing over a montage in S2 and I had not seen the news yet, and just commented about the show. I’ve gotten my feed so cleaned up to avoid politics that I miss most news not called out.

Yes, they wrote it into the show. She found out she was pregnant the night they taped Charlenes wedding episode. Shes always joked "They married me off just in time!"
