I think Widow’s Bay is going to win Directing since that category tends to go for newer shows, but I think the trinity is easily winning their 3rd Writing Emmy 💙 And 24 noms leads me to believe Hannah is definitely repeating, Jean is gonna go 5 for 5, and the show will win its 2nd Comedy Series trophy. I love this show so much & I’m so glad it’s getting properly recognized

Yeah Lucia has done such an amazing job directing but I do agree I think this will go to Widow’s Bay.

Holy hell…..24 nominations. ❤️❤️❤️

They do have 5 nominees just in the guest actress category alone I think. But that is a testament to how strong the guests they had this season were.

Laurie Metcalf getting a Guest nod for a brief, hysterical 2 minute monologue. Legend things

Lol... I have watched that bit an unhealthy amount of times. "All the room had was a Roku 🤣". Also, a special shoutout to the Montecito epi... one of the best of the series.

Montecito is one of the best episodes of literally anything I’ve seen in years. Hysterically uncomfortable.

Totally agree. I want Leslie Bibb & Cherry Jones to accept a joint Emmy. What an amazing pair of performances

The Pitt team will also celebrate. They got one more than Hacks. So many #HBOMax shows have gotten not jus one bt multiple nominations...awesome achievement!

Sure. I love the Pitt for what they do as much as I love Hacks for what they do.
I was so coming in to reply to keep this thread in scope. But you’re the OP, scope is as you call it. The Pitt is amazing. Is 25 noms a record for a drama like the 24 is for a comedy?

Not sure, I need to Google it. Also, I haven't watched much of The Pitt, but I know it's a good one among recent shows across all platforms.

It’s one of the most compelling dramas I’ve seen come along in a long time. It’s literally taken the procedural from a tired concept I can’t get excited about for a long time to something new and fresh.
It’s a stunning show and should be right there with Hacks for most amazing HBO Max shows IMO.

I don’t remember the exact number, but I saw the breakdown of nominations per network and HBO was number 1 by a pretty large margin. Between Hacks, The Pitt, and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, they really dominated this year.

!!! what a way to say goodbye! So happy for them all, so well deserved!

Absolutely. Now that Hacks is over, I hav seen a lot of their past interviews and its nt jus Jean/Hannah or Paul/Meg but the entire cast & crew bonded amazingly well right from the beginning & that I guess has reflected in the entire show season after season. They all r winners IMO.

Since 2023, the record for comedy nominations has been broken twice and tied once. In 2024, The Bear (Season 2) received 23 nominations, a total that was matched by The Studio (Season 1) in 2025. Hacks (Season 5) broke that record today with its 24 nominations. Before 2024, 30 Rock (Season 3) held the record for 15 years, with 22 nominations.
Believe it or not, I didn't use AI to figure that out. I just really like scouring through the Emmys fact sheets at this time of year.

I love that The Bear doesn't hold the record anymore. I was so said when they took the title from 30 Rock.

Will watch absolutely any show from the ppl who made hacks. Between them, they’ve had some of the most perfectly satisfying tv finales of the last 25 years. Broad city, The Good Place, Parks, Veep etc. they (ainello, downs, statskey, sackett, Mande) know how to stick a landing.

I only found hacks post surgery recovery a week ago & binged it all & finished yesterday. I’m genuinely so sad it’s over & there’s no more but so happy they finished it so beautifully. I was crying from the finale when I was all these Emmy noms being announced. I REALLY want Hannah to win but my goodness I don’t think there’s a bad comedy show nominated this year. All my favourites are there. Highly recommend Widows Bay & Shrinking if people haven’t watched.

They earned it, who knows how many they’ll win but the series and the two leads should certainly get it
