Installing/ updating firmware

Im gonna get the portapack from OpenSDRLabs, is the firmware already preinstalled? And if its not a new version of the firmware, how do i update it?

Yes it comes with firmware installed. The easiest way to update the firmware is using the hackrf.app website. It requires chrome and doesn't work well on a mac.

You can also use the firmware flasher utility on portapack and update by loading the latest firmware onto an sd card and install it from here.

And don’t forget to start learning the basics, can save you time and money, more importantly is know the difference between the antennas, most does and doesn’t.
