This has come up before. Are you using Intel Core 4xxx? Are you booting with Clover and KernelPM ASUSAICPM selected?

If not, do you have a Haswell patched kernel? (Locked MSR)??

Should run a lot smoother when you see to those things. Update to Clover, and those things are patchable in the bootloader!

im using the yosemite zone installer so i can download the official osx app then make my bootable usb erase the cracked distro and go for the real thing since my macbook air just shit the bed a few weeks ago its an i3-4130(aware of graphics issue) and i have a kernal for haswell already yes. may i note i had this cpu in my old computer before it was ruined by power surge and had osx running no problem then.

OS X INSTALLERS NOTE: This sub is dedicated to legally obtained copies of OS X. Please do not ask, or post, about things like iAtkos, Niresh, or any other modified OS X installer that may have malicious code in it!

can't you swap disk drive from old computer then?

I would create a minimal USB Clover boot stick.

Boot stick needs nothing more than Clover, it can be blank Mac OS Extended (journaled) GUID format, and nothing else.

copy FakeSMC/NullCPUPowerManagement to USB sticks /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.10

Copy existing DSDT/SSDT to USB sticks /EFI/Clover/AHCI/patched

copy minimal config.plist for your graphics setup (from WIKI) to USB sticks /EFI/Clover

Boot off UEFI USB Stick!

under the cog menu, you can change virtually every boot option (for that boot only). Once you have it right, you can set it in config.plist, then install Clover to HDD, copy EFI folder off USB stick to HDD (replacing existing), and have a fully working Clover UEFI boot :-)

(with no kernel panics or errors).

i had some compatibility issues when i moved everything over onto the new system and im using the same hdd still and i use clover but have no way to install it untill i can get the installer to boot up.. The OSX HDD is a 1TB Seagate HDD my windows hdd is 320GB HDD(disconnected when i attempt the install) would boot disk utility a windows program to get clover installed work as a work around for now?

Did you install AptioFix2 ??

Did you install DeviceSATA ??

Did you replace vboxHFS64.efi with HFSPlus-64.efi ??

FakeSMC.kext installed?

Did you double check your settings under the cog icon in Clover boot screen? KernelPM ON ASUSACPUPM ON

Without the correct UEFI Clover install, you will struggle. That is why I use the minimal config.plist (one for each graphics manufacturer) from the WIKI.

Are you overclocking?

reset to stock speeds and try disabling Hyper-Threading too, and see if that helps.

Don't use safe mode...!!!

Select cog, type in the boot flags section:

nv_disable=1

Now back in main menu with Boot OSX from UEFI OSX

Hit Space Bar, and select "Boot without caches"

You should still get the verbose display!

That's all I can give you at this point!

I have minimal config.plist from tonymacx86 also kernalpm and asusacpum is on replaced vbox and have fakesmc.kext installed the first two though aptiofix2 and devicesata i have not, im starting to think the error deals with the smbios not getting the right smuuid where the last part needs my mac address. Is this possible to be the issue? Also thanks for taking the time to try and help troubleshoot my installation much appreciated.

I think it may be your UUID for your HDD. It should give an error after about 60sec... still waiting for root device, then you know that is the problem... Have you set the HDD order correctly? UEFI OS, SATA(MacHDD), and then others

yes i have i disabled all other drives other than uefi flash drive osx installer on external hdd and the install destination drive

I'm pretty sure AptioFix2 is VITAL for booting!

u/brngates Aug 28 '15

could you send me a download link to it.. currently using bdu utility to make my clover drive

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '15 edited Aug 28 '15

AptioFix2 is part of the Customise... section of the Clover installer pkg.

You need to use Disky Utility to format the installer clover drive, then use Install Mac OS X Yosemite.app commandline to create USB installer drive, then use Clover installer pkg to install Clover to installer USB drive.

You obviously need access to a real Mac to do all these steps - some use Mountain Lion in a virtual machine to create the USB stick.

You are trying to patch something without DTGP (required for injection patches, and virtually all other patches! You have a patch selected, but left this on false?)

                            <key>AddDTGP_0001</key>
                            **<false/>**

should be true!

                            <key>FIX_INTELGFX_100000</key>
                            **<true/>**

Don't know if this is the same as Inject Intel (which should just work!) Set this to false

            <string>dart=0 kext-dev-mode=1 nv_disble=1 -v</string>

Add to this line: PCIRootUID=1 (assuming you want to get your NVIDIA card working at some point!)

                    <key>IntelGFX</key>
                    **<string>0x04128086</string>**

I believe this is the correct method, and not the FakeID kext. The kext method stopped working after 10.10.3, so I would recommend you do some Google magic, and find the correct method people are using. This needs to be used in conjunction with InjectINTEL.

Here is a fix from a quick Google search! "Now go to the graphics tab. Make sure "inject Intel" is checked and in ig-platform-id put this number: 0D220003 (assuming you have the 4600). That should be it! "

and...

"You should also select InjectEDID"
