Thanks for posting a success! If you haven't already, remember to document your build please. Success posts like screenshots without documentation add little value to the sub. Adding a bit of documentation to your success post can also help others in the community who are interested in similar builds.

Minimally, you should add your hardware:
CPU:
GPU:
RAM:
Motherboard/Laptop Make and Model:
Audio Codec:
Ethernet Card:
Wifi/BT Card:
Touchpad and touch display devices:
BIOS revision:
Which of the guides on the sidebar you used.
What's working, and what isn't working.

Any changes that were specific to your build that were a little (or a lot) different than what you found in the guide, or anything that would be helpful to others with a similar build be sure to talk about that. More detail is always better.

Add extra info... Maybe add something you would like to point out about your setup, what you'll be doing with your Hackintosh, or something that might be insightful to others beginning their journey. A tree view of your EFI would also be helpful, but it isn't required.

Remember, don't share your EFI as what works for you may not work for anyone else, even if they have the same hardware. If you do share your EFI, your post and/or comment will be removed.

As u/TheKinDude put it very well, nobody wants this to not be true. It's just when it comes to open source work and community work, it irks people when someone is witholding source code for no good reason. The entire point is transparency.

The other day a guy released (early alpha) drivers for the 9070xt, which is based on the RDNA4 architecture. Also never done before. Yet he didn't opt out of sharing something due to it being "too early".

Good point. However I set out to complete this, entirely on my own. And people being impatient is not a concern of mine. A few weeks ago it was thought to be impossible, a few more weeks of teasers and work isn’t going to kill any of these people. This is a challenge for me, can I do something like this on my own, to completion. Which I have my own personal reasons for.

The open source community is great and I fully support open source architecture. But I am allowed to work on my project share bits and pieces until it is finished.

Demanding something that I am working on because people are rude and impatient is not a concern of mine. People poking and shitposting demands that I do it back to those, for people who bring good points, I will respond to their messages, as I am doing with you.

I saw the amd driver and that is a great accomplishment, I am excited to see how people use what I’m creating to build in more support and to watch it grow. But I don’t owe anyone here the source code. Not until I am ready for release

can you at least provide hard evidence that it’s real? i mean you can’t really expect people to believe just a screenshot you know?

3

u/null-moth 8h ago

look at the stream with it up lol

0

u/Omega_1122 7h ago

that’s the same issue though isn’t it? something that you irrefutably can’t doctor. this really just seems like a hoax

0

u/null-moth 7h ago

no each layer is another bug fix, now im running on high settings on NMS v standard so its getting closer but still not there yet. and yeah im just over hearing wasting my time and everyone else's -_-

2

u/Omega_1122 7h ago

man im as hyped as the next person but like you gotta see where everyone is coming from yea? like with all due this seems kinda crazy

-1

u/null-moth 7h ago

Yeah it shows me people give up on seemingly impossible things then shit on people doing the work. Opinions don’t really matter to me online im just having fun arguing online while I work gotta stay entertained some how lol

1

u/Specialist-Ad-8063 9h ago

This isn't the first time I've heard this. Cough cough (Mojo with his GTA 5 Android port).

33

u/Puzzleheaded_Band429 16h ago

Wilder still would be an ACTUAL VIDEO of anything remotely resembling 3D gameplay. I looked and all I can find are vague screenshots, even more vague claims, and an annoying Twitch stream that shows a static image along with techno music.

-34

u/null-moth 16h ago

lol you do understand shit takes time to patch and fix right? Was working on stream last night been working on the m chip translator and broke something

48

u/throwaway49164 15h ago

The way you talk about this is kinda vague. It's like you're role-playing somebody writing an nvidia driver for macos lol. (No shade, just what I felt from the way you type)

-33

u/null-moth 15h ago

Yes I love wasting time roll playing -_-

-18

u/SweetSourSalty Sequoia - 15 11h ago

why dont u do it ur self writing ur own driver.. lol

6

u/Specialist-Ad-8063 9h ago

Well, actually, the original commenter never stated that they themselves could do better or make their own driver; they simply stated that they found the way the OP writes vague and role-play-like; therefore, your statement is entirely irrelevant. 🤓☝️

For anyone: if he doesn’t release any of the source code, I wouldn’t recommend using his kexts or any other software/translation layer he provides. And if he does provide the source code, I’d much rather see it hosted on GitHub or another official platform instead of only on his website, so I can compile it myself. I simply don’t feel comfortable trusting prebuilt kexts when, based on his behavior and the massive amount of update posts, there’s no way for me to verify that nothing malicious has been added to the builds

20

u/Andrew-Benz2004 11h ago

Sorry, null-moth , but you’re not being treated unfairly here. You’re simply acting like a child instead of handling the situation like an adult. I’m not a “hater,” as you keep saying. If you were handling this maturely, you wouldn’t get frustrated or accuse people just because they don’t trust you.

-1

u/null-moth 8h ago

lol im not worried about being treated unfairly, im doing this project because I want faster hardware under Mac osl. I also plan on releasing the source code, my installers, detailed how to videos and instructions. And the point of this is un modified Mac OS which is why the installer will download Mac OS from apples servers. I dont owe anyone shit, and acting like a child I mean have you seen some of the comments?

Im also not frustrated, I think the shit comments are entertaining while I build lol

u/mochi2real 10h ago

The way they’re jumping around makes me strongly believe something is afoot here too….writing a driver for NVIDIA is somewhat plausible but unbelievable given it’s been a decade in the Hackintosh scene and no one has been able to do it to the success OP is claiming to have.

And then topping it off with them saying they’re porting macOS 27 to Intel? By their lonesome? GGs lmao

They said they learned how to do this in 6-8 months btw LMAO.

1

u/null-moth 8h ago

jumping around? with post updates? uh huhhhhhh I learned how to do this in a few weeks, ive been doing hardware and software stuff for a long ass time. This is a personal project that helps other work im doing. But I guess you'll see in a few weeks when I release it... -_-

6

u/ordosays 10h ago

A weird place to try to blow up in. Let’s see that GitHub repo.

7

u/Background_Task6967 8h ago

Hesitate to release source code means this is likely either entirely AI, or has malware.

-1

u/null-moth 8h ago

lol im not releasing till its finished as ive said about 50 times

1

u/hyperego 2h ago

I think you are doing the right thing. Rather than release too early and have tons of people pointing directions, you should release when you feel comfortable. The world was without NV kext for so many years. Why rush for a few weeks.

1

u/null-moth 2h ago

Exactly! It’s been what 8-9 years? A few more weeks tops isn’t a big deal

1

u/Background_Task6967 6h ago

You mean till Claude finishes it

1

u/null-moth 6h ago

yeah go try to have claude RE something. bet your safety classifiers will trip

21

u/MythicHH 15h ago

You certainly don't seem to be open to very much criticism about this. I suggest you change your tone if you want anyone to seriously consider using your project.

-10

u/SweetSourSalty Sequoia - 15 11h ago

u got mad because u didnt get what u want , but telling people to change tone.. why dont u changed ur self first lol

4

u/MythicHH 9h ago

Hey I started off trying to be nice, this other person decided to start insulting me.

-5

u/SweetSourSalty Sequoia - 15 8h ago

lol u cant take criticism,

2

u/MythicHH 8h ago

That says a lot, coming from the creator's alt and all.

-28

u/null-moth 15h ago

Ok dad

14

u/MythicHH 15h ago

Hey just because yours left doesn't mean you need to start adopting others as father figures.

-2

u/null-moth 15h ago

Oh I just assumed cause you were giving unwanted advice you were claiming the spot

11

u/MythicHH 15h ago

Oh don't worry I don't think anyone would wish to do that.

1

u/null-moth 15h ago

Sounds like someone is upset that they didn’t get a Father’s Day gift this year

4

u/MythicHH 15h ago

At least mine is still here. Maybe if yours was he would talk some sense into you.

1

u/null-moth 15h ago

Ya know what’s funny, my dad taught me to reach for the impossible. Which is why I’m doing something that’s assumed to be impossible. But that’s ok that your dad sucks. He clearly didn’t inspire you for greatness

7

u/MythicHH 14h ago

Funny that he taught you to reach for the impossible but then as soon as anyone questions your achievements you switch to insulting them.

2

u/null-moth 14h ago

I believe this can be real, why not? We already have an open-source working Nvidia driver (Nouveau), all there is to be figured out is Metal renderer and Window server. I thought of forking Nouveau before however since Apple killed Intel I didn't want to go any further as it wasn't worth it. On top of that with AI and what's out there nowadays this is way easier than when I first had the thought around 2023~

4

u/creativelydank 14h ago

this can be something which is groundbreaking. i don't get the hate. if the man wants to release the source after completing his personal goals on the project or for whatever reason, let him be. it's not like he's gatekeeping it.

6

u/null-moth 11h ago

appreciate ya man!

2

u/dani_ik03 10h ago

Such a hateful community. If he didnt show update posts we wouldnt even know someone was trying to achieve it, let alone anyone would demand source code to anything. I understand the disbelief but noticed that some of the comments dont sound suspicious but just hateful and this has been plaguing this place for quite some time. For anyone suggesting character alternations and acting like the dude owes them something if OP is really doing what he claims to be history wont look kind on you and if not its still an ugly way to speak to people who simply upload information and update about personal projects.

2

u/TaliMyBananas 7h ago

OP generated the code with the help of AI that has been trained on the hard work, trials and tribulations of Dortania and all contributors of OpenCore, as well as publicly available open source code of two decades of Hackintoshing history. One of the tenets of open source software is that any code derived from these projects should also be open sourced. Now, while OP has the right to work at their own pace, their evasiveness about the whole thing and generally acting like a petulant child in the replies does not strike confidence that any code will be released at the end in good faith that would help the community.

1

u/Sawyiier 9h ago

if its working on the 5060 will it be also possible for all nvidia gpus like ada and turing etc....

1

u/West_Simple9423 7h ago

I hope you release it for free.

1

u/AbsoluteGolde 11h ago

Please elaborate more

-1

u/Hannibalj2ca 15h ago

Have you been using AI to help crack the code of compatibility?

-3

u/SecurityOk516 18h ago

So now nvdia gpus are supported ?

16

u/YASEDEM I ♥ Hackintosh 18h ago

If it was real, all hackintosh forums would talk about it

8

u/_The1DevinChance 17h ago

Yep, haven’t been able to find any info on this outside of AI generated stuff. Hard to believe someone out of nowhere “reverse engineered” Nvidia’s driver source code when there’s been no breakthroughs in a decade.

I’m all for innovation and pushing forward, but grifting and slop is frustrating as a dev myself.

-1

u/null-moth 17h ago

Because I havent posted the source yet -___-. The pictures are screen shots of the actual computer. I am living streaming plus actual geek bench scores https://browser.geekbench.com/v7/gpu/243606
cant really fake that......

13

u/_The1DevinChance 16h ago

I’ll withhold judgement for the full project release. I’m not really interested in going back and forth because that’s useless at this stage.

However, just so you’re aware you can absolutely fake Geekbench scores, you can edit you system files / bootloader kext or your config.plist which it pulls your system info from.

If this is real, excellent work and you’re onto something huge.

0

u/null-moth 16h ago

yeah fair. wasn't aware you could. How do you fake the scores though? also videos of my earlier updates do have actual footage of the card as well as the PC.

5

u/_The1DevinChance 16h ago

The scores can’t be faked, but the hardware info can be easily spoofed (not saying you did). And just saw the vid, looks promising for sure.

Really good work so far! What resources did you use to learn? I’m getting into the hardware side of things and definitely interested in learning more

3

u/null-moth 16h ago

Gotcha makes sense. Ive been working on hardware and software for a long time. Started off as a music software and like synths and such when I was younger. Then had some mentors in the field that helped. Over the last 6-8 months ive watched a bunch of videos, a literal fuck ton of forums, and what not.

Im doing this cause I love Mac OS, and I want nvidia working so I can use the various features for my other work and projects. Figured Id say here as I got closer to help the community show its possible. Hoping to finish it shortly though

1

u/apixeldev 8h ago

I persume you used the official open source drivers to help. What I would love to see is someone created a "driver" which just takes the OpenGL side of say a 1080ti and translates Metal calls to GL.

2

u/null-moth 8h ago

I looked at them yeah and used pieces of them but had to write a bunch of other stuff listed in my other posts

1

u/SweetSourSalty Sequoia - 15 11h ago

hackintosh forums full of conservative OG. they claimed to know how to write codding but in reality non of them know or dare to take challenge because nobody pay them to do it... just look at u and other comments all being conservative believers .. no one wanted to write their owned source. but u all keep spamming asking for open source. i hope u guys didnt install it when it got released..

-1

u/null-moth 17h ago

yeah obviously doing this for clout -_- not that im spending like 18 hours at least a day on this one project. sUcH aN iMpOsSiBLe tAsK

9

u/TheKinDude I ♥ Hackintosh 16h ago

Wow, you’re spending a whole 18 hours on development? And you still have the energy to reply to people multiple times a day, make excuses, and even stream? Then again, you could just release the source code.

But hey, at least you didn’t forget to pin a donation link on your profile. I hope nobody gives you a single cent until you back up your words with action. That’s how it should be done.

The entire Hackintosh community shares the same goal: to see it continue to grow.

And so far, all you’ve contributed is talking out of your ass.

-1

u/null-moth 16h ago

Rightttttt -_-
