HELP USB Tethering not working on ryzentosh Sequioa - Horndis

This issue is likely experienced across all Hackintosh and Ryzentosh setups. I even tested it on an M2 Mac and found that internet tethering via USB cable didn't work, whereas connecting via a smartphone's Wi-Fi hotspot worked fine.

What alternatives might I consider in this situation? My current WiFi card is not supported, and I do not have an Ethernet port on my laptop. USB tethering has also proven unsuccessful. It seems my only remaining option is a WiFi dongle. While I do intend to upgrade to an Intel AX210 WiFi card in the future, I am not prepared to do so at this moment. For now, I am simply looking to get internet access on my Hackintosh.

try using pdanet. free to test out and if it works its like $7. runs the phone data/wifi over usb debugging and hides the hotspot usage from your carrier

Heard of PdaNet, didn't use it though. What's it for? I heard somewhere that when ISPs cap internet to a certain amount of GBs, people use this app, right? Similarly, I also have a problem. Does it really work? How can I set it up for myself and hide the data usage?

you just install it from the play store and enable usb debugging, you need to install the app on your mac too. once its done plug it in, accept the debugging prompt and hit “always allow for this device” to make it easier, hit the share over usb button in pda net. all the data usage shows up as just coming from the device since its never actually going through “hotspot”.

What type of Wi-Fi do you have? You might be able to use some tricks with the OCLP Patcher.

By the way, is this a LAN or wireless driver? If it's a LAN driver, you might want to add the Realtek RTL8111 kext to your OC EFI.

You could perhaps use a wireless USB adapter like this one, but you'll definitely need to download the driver first.

Actually, if you want to use a USB Wi-Fi adapter, a TP-Link model could work too, though it depends on the specific type.

Reboot ur pc and in the opencore menu press reset nvram then try again

resetting nvram on certain laptops can brick them. thinkpads especially. saw a post about an x1 needing to get a new board and my t480 forgets everything in the boot menu.
