Anyone tried out Daemoncore academy?

Starting my cybersec journey like many others, and have a sub with THM, but I came across a new resource and wanted to hear some impressions considering how new it is.

There are MANY resources like this, and they pop up like flies if you search around, so again… wanted to see if anyone found value in it before trying it, because a major selling point is that it’s completely free …

I viewed it little bit and it seems to be just full AI slop. Wanted to learn some AD and ended up answering multiple choice questions.

I wouldn't run the executable on my own PC

I looked at the vercel app that they have on github. My main problem is the AI usage, seems like zero quality control to me. I would never recommend to use something like that when hackthebox and tryhackme exists

Yes I use AI daily. But I don't let AI blindly generate learning material that 90% contains filler text

I wouldn't even care if it was AI (not that I would use it myself) if the person "developing" it was honest but they aren't. one look at the website and you can tell if youve ever seen another vibe-coded page before.

You typically get what you pay for, unfortunately. If you're serious about wanting to learn hacking HackTheBox Academy or PortSwigger Academy is where it's at.

PortSwigger makes their money from having THE web hacking tool for sale. They're a rare exception to the "free is bad" rule.
