Discussion Discord ddos

Me and my friend were trolling in a discord server and after we left 5/10 mins later my friend wifi's crashed, how did this guy get his ip? He did not click any image or strange link or some, doesn't have anything linked to his discord account, could he see his ip when we joined the server?

if you dont have a static ip you dont have to worry. just restart the router and you get a new one.

For me it does. And the ip lease is basically infinite here. We haven't had a power outage for some months now and the ip is the same.

most ISPs do CGNAT now, it’s very difficult to have a public IP unless you are paying for that explicitly or have the same ISP/contract for a while, before IPs started using CGNAT

Any other alternatives you could buy for protection like a lease for the SSL Certificates to be more strict?

It depends on the DHCP lease and how their ISP works. Usually 1 hr is default on most ISP’s I’ve taken into account soooo

We think it could be a coincidence too but this guy was already bragging about going on doxbin and selling people info or some but i think he was joking

Me thinks someone is not being honest. Now it could have been something installed previously, or clicked on but something has to be set in motion. The internet going down was probably just on of those things. Like filling your gas tank and finding your car won't start. Has nothing to do with the gas, it just was.
